Default Nerf Critical Defense

This nerf should make a devastating look to a lot of sins. It can be nerf by increasing recharge to 60 or decreasing the duration. And Critical Eye need to be nerfed also, it can just simply be changed into a stance as it now can be removed. I hope I don't get flamed by angry sins mob .
Oh and another nerd for critical defense can be make it into an elite skill which probably won't since no elite skill will be produced.

Or not, because sins need them to even be halfway decent in PvE.

You want to nerf two of the best sin skills in the game? Critical defenses makes a sin somewhat decent in PvE.

O yes, nerf the sin's skills. They are already slaughtered in Deadly Arts, lets ruin their Primary as well! Heck, why don't we just make all professions except mesmer just plain awful, o wait, they already nerfed the living hell out of mesmers.

What is with people wanting to slaughter sins just as much as mesmers? People already say they suck, so leave them be then!

with 13 critical strikes, it can last 9 second combined with critical eye, u can easily maintain it indefinitely until there out of foes, and since it a very good skill I dont see a harm in making it an Elite, also Way of Perfection seem a bit more overpowered compared to vigorous spirit since a sins can almost alway make a critical strike with high attribute and critical eye, or at least seem like it.

Mesmers are actually really strong. In PvP, anyway.

But this nerf will be stupid. What will it bring? 'sins best defensive skill to crapness.
Plus it's not even needed.

What the hell made you want this anyway?

Trust me when I say, they will not make Critical Defenses an elite. Factions has been around too long. O by the way, wanna know how to get rid of a sin with Critical Defenses without spells? Blind and/or block him 9 seconds later, no blocking, same thing with Critical Agility.

I was meaning in PvE and it was more of a reference to the constant overall nerfs the mesmers have been getting, not if they are good or bad, I think they are good but those nerfs are killing them.

On topic, I don't think it would be a good idea. That would be like nerfing a Monk's Divine Favor line, or a Derv's Mysticism line, or a Mesmer Fast Casting line (I mean the skills not the attribute itself). Well, you get the picture.

Thats a horrible idea...

Sins need critical defenses, and it is in no way too powerful. It has a fairly short duration, and because of all the blocking going around PvP as of lately, it is hard to keep up anyways.

For PvE... there are so many skills that are better nerf candidates then this one.

PvE sins need Crit defenses only if their monks are bad.

PvP sins with Crit defenses can say hello to kiting.

Kiting > crit defenses.
Blind > crit defenses.
Block stances/enchants > crit defenses.
Enchant removal > crit defenses

Do I really need to go on?

if theres one thing we don't need its a nerf to sin pve and as stated above theres more then enough counters for pvp

I don't quite understand this thread, but I'll comment on it with my opinion anyhow.

Nerf Critical Defenses? Why, because it can be annoying as hell when someone runs up on your melee and you can't seem to bash in their face as easily as normal? For those having ran into the R/D stance spammers this feeling of helplessness will be familiar. However it isn't true helplessness at all. In fact, just about anytime I get on my Warrior for a few rounds of fisticuffs, I always go W/D and bring Rending Touch ([skill]rending touch[/skill]). And that's only one way to make a Sin tank relying on Critical Defenses go poof. Already blind has been mentioned, along with kiting, etc.

It seems to me that with the plethora of ways to remove enchants ([skill]gaze of contempt[/skill] and [skill]rend enchantments[/skill] being just two), this all should be a non-issue. I mean a Necro with Strip Enchantment ([skill]strip enchantment[/skill]) would even work ... but then again, I'm sure you'd be more worried about those anti-melee hexes by then. ([skill]spiteful spirit[/skill],[skill]insidious parasite[/skill],[skill]reckless haste[/skill],[skill]price of failure[/skill], etc.)

Don't nerf this skill. Leave it alone. Let the Assassins have some sort of defense that doesn't involve disappearing into a dust cloud.

Though that skills is heavily annoying in PvP, in all other cases the skills is fine as is.
