(but gotta give props for a couple of times where she had to put in the OT to take care of issues - the monk strike and the duping fiasco, as examples)

That's specifically why it would be a monument to the frog (who Gaile happens to control). The frog has been a part of GW lore since the game's inception, so it's fitting in that regard. The idea is to make something purely decorative and small, unobstructive to the game. A point of curiosity. If it fits those guidelines, I can't imagine what the objection is. It would in no way impact the manner in which the game is played, and is far less obtrusive than the festival they have planned already.

With all due respect, I don't know who your grandfather is. Likely because he didn't contribute anything to the GW community. Real statues cost real money. We're talking about a game, and it's the gesture that has meaning not monetary value. I know there are AreaNet haters out there, and maybe you don't care for her contributions, that's your choice. But come on, there are still statues of Stalin standing, not because everyone like the guy, but becuase he was important in the development of a country and culture. Likewise, GW has it's own culture and it's own history. Gaile has been instrumental to that. For better or worse, if there is one player in this game that the millions of players around the world know by name for their contributions, it is her.

The PvP view point sais /notsigned, for all the fails done in PvP.

Despite what people have said, Gaille has done a fantastic job as CR-while she may not have been given all the facts at times-that's not really her fault.
I think it would be cool to have a small Frog statue since the Frog (I guess) is getting replaced with a Bunny (better be a death dealing bunny!).
I think this is a cool idea.

Well, you aren't leaving your post are you? Seriously though, I've read many of your threads and appreciate the time and effort you've put in.
I know! We'll immortalize you with a holiday. We'll call it "Earthday". Okay, so it's already taken, but you and I will know it's "real" meaning from now on.

Give us just a "green" Frog- Minipet, think that would be far more funny, also this Minipet should have 1 speciality, a special emote that you can use only, while you have the frog out
type /rain and it will rain for soem seconds frogs from the sky XD that quak loudly, so that you can hear it
And if you wear a Frog Cepter and type in /crown, your Frog Minipet will receive a shiny golden Crown ^^
That would be so god damn funny *g*

I guarantee 75%+ of the Guild Wars population are lucky enough to not even know who Gaile Gray is so if they saw a statue of some lady in LA they might be a tad bit confused.
Waste of time.

[QUOTE=Jefferson Airplane] Long from now when everyone's playing Guild Wars 2 except for the few who will always play Guild wars, someone will ask, "Hey, what's that statue if?", and someone older and wiser will tell them the tale of how Gaile was the greatest CRM to ever walk the lands,QUOTE] Greatest CRM to ever walk the land? That would be Andrew Patrick and srsly no, no monument to Gaile. If we added a monument to her why not add a monument to commemorate Andrew? Simply because the majority of players are PvE and Gaile obviously catered to the PvEers doesn't mean she deserves a monument.

Gaile was not the ONLY one to control the Frog. There were others that occasionally sign in as the Frog or however they do it. Sure, Gaile probably was the main person that did, but no the only one. Now that Gaile is leaving doesn't mean the Frog is. Someone else can easily be assigned to control the Frog. The Frog is just a way to get in touch with the community, slip new info about things to the people, and get their general opinion about things. With Gaile gone who's to say someone else won't take up main control of the Frog? It's Gaile that's leaving, not the Frog. If they make a statue for her it should be to HER, not to something she sometimes used to talk to us.
I'm not too big on PvP but by all means, give Andrew a statue in The Temple of Balthazar, or anywhere significant to the world of PvP.

Oh, I see. Well, in that case... /not signed for the afore mentioned reasons. I would think that leaving the little frog right were it is and continue the tradition of putting festival hats on it during holidays would be adequate. it would (continue to) fill the criteria of being decorative, small, unobstructive, and a point of curiosity.
