Multiple Pets for GW2
Just off the top of my head the other day I was thinking how cool it would be to have a true Beast Master and control more than one pet.
The attack skills would only be for your primary pet, unless you highlight the pet.
Maybe you could have 1 pet per 4 points in Beast Mastery;
1 - 4, 1 pet;
5 - 8, 2 pets;
9 - 12, 3 pets;
13 - 16, 4 pets;
and 17 - 20, 5 pets.
The pets would take up slots like henchmen or heroes.
You would also have to lessen or get rid of the skill down-time when a pet dies.
I can see a few down sides also, but for the sheer fun of playing I'd like to try it.

Might be a fun idea. Considering it for GW1, there's no consistent way by your standards to have 5 pets. I say that as if you'd need to maintain that point standard to control the pets, but if you're just talking about taming them, that at least could be done.
/signed for GW2.
What we really need for GW1 is just better pets, imo. They can't really do much.

my beast master wins so many duels it's not funny
on topic: would be fun, but won't get implemented unless they nerf all the skills
it would be insanely powerful though.....all those pet shouts and skills......times 5 (if you could get 17 BM)

Hordes of animals would be much more fun than hordes of minions, but it would break the class. Maybe if they tone them down a bit? It would be rockin'.

suggested x times ..
I doubt it would be harsh now to say "use search" XD
However, whatever Anet does about a Pet Class in GW2, it should imo not have more than 3 Pets to stay simple balanced.
5 pets would be insane and somewhat of imba, if Anet would do this, all summon classes would need drastically concept buffs
-----
so mininos don't get limited to 10, the concept needs so or so to get reverted back to its origin of unendless mininos, as logn u have enough corpses and mana to manage your horde, thats balancing enough, 10 minion limit is just retarded and has killed alot of the fun factor, MM's had before.
---
also no non moving weak spirits in GW2 then
Even with increasing to 3 pets, the summoner classes and the others need good concept buffs to let the whole thign stay balanced, especially for the pvp.
means, when pets become a better gameplay of the class that should be based on them, then must receive the other classes also skills to handle more pets better, or skills, that are able to make out of a strength of this class in a sudden a weakness by turning the pets against his own master through brainwashign or whatever...., because when that would happen then in the game, then would have the beast master immediately a big problem XD
Like Shayne mentions also, I sgn this too:
Pets the class should have in GW2 max for combat should be limited to 3, but taming pets should be in GW2 unlimited imo.
Pet Tamer NPC's allowing the gamer then to exchange the tamed pets agaisnt a small fee of 10g at will, which 3 of them you want to have with you for combat.

Maybe designate a "Pack leader" who is the only one who uses pet attacks, and all other ones have diminishing damage, and make the heals split between them, same with buffs? Just an idea.

well if they make the beast mastery line a lot worse than in GW1, then technically they are nerfing it for GW2
