Maybe something to stop PvE-leeching but not sure...
Hi,
This is my first suggestion so pls don't flame me if it's bad but me and my friends were talking on school this afternoon about leeching in PvE and not being able to report it.
But i thought about this, how about you can report a person if he or she afk's in PvE for leeching and with this she will not get drops for a small amount of time or just not at all for the rest of the farming period. This should also be used when farming for reputation points. So actually when someone just starts afk'ing in your farm you and the rest of the party should be able to report that person and therefore disable the possibility for him/her to receive any drops or reputation.
This could be very useful for farms in DoA, UW, FoW and Norn rep farm, just to name a few popular farms.
As i once read about an active leecher here on the forums who followed his team but did not fight and therefore the party was unable to do anything. This could be a possibility to stop PvE leeching.
So here's a short description of my suggestion:
Around 6 people in a team should be able to report a player for PvE-leeching
After that a message should appear that the person has been declared a PvE-leecher and will not receive any more drops or reputation points.
Chest drops will not be included in this no more dropping effect or maybe the person shouldn't be able to use chests too either
Maybe a small hex symbol like Dishonorable that shows the person has been leeching with the small purple triangle next to his/hers name to show to other players this person is not quite reliable
You can only report a person when he or she did not attack any targets for an amount of time. I would suggest around 10 minutes but could be less to stop people from killing only one foe and then afk for the rest of the time
That is about it with my small oppinion on the PvE-leeching/afk'ing.
I hope i can receive good feedback and no flaming.

I would have it where if you have at least 5 people in a 8-person or 4 people in a 6-person then you can vote them off.
You have 5-8 people in a party and 1 goes AFK on purpose or does Leroy Jenkins or brings every mob to you. You have everyone else vote that 1 off the party to force that person back to outpost. I see no problem with that.

Hmmm. Could've sworn the drop system wouldn't assign items (or XP) to someone who wasn't within radar range of the kill, so it'd be rather hard for someone to leech loot/XP if they've gone AFK (or, as is far more common, been disconnected) for more than a minute or two, other than end of mission/dungeon XP & rep. And they'll get nothing from the end chest of a dungeon if you map out when everyone else is ready.
Now, if they're tagging along and staying just within range, contributing nothing, well, that's a completely different story. ANet really should force us all to take an account-wide name so that we can better decide who we want to group with outside our guilds.
A PvE /report feature, or consensus-based kicking, would be way too frequently abused. Maybe if it deleted any loot on the ground assigned to that person and if they got rid of the feature that unassigns drops after 10 minutes...

Here's the problem I have with this reporting stuff...
Not everyone has a zippy speedy connection. Not everyone has a stable connection. My guildmate was 'reported' for leeching during the snowball fight. She's no leecher, just has a long download time and is frozen for a bit whenever she enters a new area.
First time she entered the snowball arena, her computer locked up. Came back in only to find she was reported for leeching. Needless to say, she does no PvP nor does she even try fun events such as rollarbeetle races or the snowball fights. I didn't even do the snowball fights this past year with people taking about how they reported someone just because they didn't know how to play or didn't play like the others wanted.
I have a fairly good connection, but for some reason my system totally locks up at the beginning of one particular mission in Nightfall. Taking my ele through that mission, I was called a leecher.
Noone knows what's going on with someone elses computer or connections. Being called a leecher and even being tagged one by ANet because someone reported you is not fun.
Just kick the person out of your group and go on.

I love the concept, but I think your idea has too many holes in it at the moment. There are many places (fow, doa) where most folks don't bother to pick up their junk drops. Your leecher would still have access to all those. He would also have access to the end reward chests which are the major prizes.
I made a similiar suggestion here last month. http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10270706 It got very favorable replies and I think we also got the kinks worked out so that it could not be abused which of course is always the top reason for "/notsigned"ers.
