I refuse to be a member of a club that would accept me as a member.

I don't get the impression either of you really understand the point of this. It's not to have a select group of friends, it's to have a huge group of people with shared intrests able to contact each other that otherwise would have no idea eachother existed.
As far as I know there are no public ventrillo servers you can join for people who want to do X in GW (otherwise I'd assume there would be a sticky at the top of Riverside)
And it's not about talking to six or seven of your closest friends in a GH, it's about talking with thousands of people that might have the same intrests and needs as you. I.E., being able to ask who could help in a specific mission, or a price check, or being able to find a group of Rank 9 (or above) Gladiators for the PvP Arenas.

way to fix the leader's influence: No leaders, only officers and members.

The above paralleled my mental thoughts the moment I read this thread =]. But I agree with the OP, it is a cool idea and it sure beats pm'ing all your friends to see if they're up for one event. Or better yet, why not simply have certain checkmarks next to your name in the f-list? That way, your friends can all see what you're up for. Maybe even have a popup bubble that shows when you mouse over the icons to let you know what they mean; shards and ectos for fow and uw, banana for Mallyx, etc.

Now thats a fresh and cool idea, exactly something I've always wanted but never even thought about it!
Wow, thanks for letting me know about it, this idea is now taking over my mind, I must now think of ways to make it better, realistic, technically possible to be implemented...
Seriously this could be a great thing for building even better communities. The one guild and alliance aren't often able to fulfill all socializing and pugging needs of a player.

While I don't have any real reason against this, I see you simply asking to be a member of multiple guilds at the same time (without GvG ability). My big question would be, are you asking for a seperate chat channel for every club you are in, because I doubt that they would implement that.

Xfire
Ventrillo (+keyboard for those of you without mics)
Any instant messaging system
If you want that many names that bad, put the main ones in your 100-friend friends list, take guildies out of it to make room, and write the rest in a .txt. I'd rather Anet work on stuff that needs to be worked on like skill balances and bugs than social networking on a game that isn't going to be getting any new major content due to GW2.
Maybe if it was 3 years ago.
