Vanquisher map
What the idea is:
A map, similar to the Dungeon maps that drop from hidden treasures in dungeons that, when double clicked, reveal on the U map the location of every VISIBLE mob(not pop ups unless you trigger that pop up). It can be a random drop in Hard Mode from enemies, and drop from locked chests.
The pros:
I'm sure there are several people that the bar is ALMOST full for vanquishing, and they've been all over the map. Honestly, I think it's easy to miss one small mob, and you have to search all over for it. This would make finding those last enemies you missed easier to find.
The cons:
I'm sure people will find some way to say this is a bad idea. Have at it.

I would agree with this, my few vanquisher attempts so far have resulted in me missing a group or just not getting one from a patrol or something of the sort and have to spend another 10-15 on the map trying to find it.

Yea, I'm pretty sure the point of vanquishing is supposed to be a measure of your effectiveness in taking enemies down, not how effective your sweeping patterns are and how well you know exactly how the patrols in a particular area move. Usually, my vanquishes turn out just fine, but its always that occasional one where its a spread out map with patrols that move all over the place that one or two will evade all my sweeping patterns. Its not that bad when you're playing with humans, because you can just spread out, but with h/h, its annoying as hell, especially since they're probably still doing there annoying patrol pattern of evasion lol.

I have no trouble finding mobs o.O And I've vanquished every map now, so...
It's usually just looking where the gaps are in where you've went, that's usually where the groups are.
Though, for the lazy people, this'd be good I suppose.

Good idea, there's nothing really bad in it.
I've never had a problem with finding the enemies though (except in the first map I did).

Hey, if it is a consumable, it is a gold sink, and since the only advantage it gives is saving some time when the area is almost vanquished, it's a good idea...
...if it is possible.

When vanquishing you have to learn a pattern very fast you cannot just see a mob then run to it.
What I usually do is start around the edges of the map to get all corners and a general size layout, then after i start working to the middle in a circular motion. Also the other hard part about doing a map would be some mobs do not go hostile until you approach them.
I would be more for it revealing the area (would not go to cartographer) vs showing the mobs.

Would love it, dc'd after leaving comp on so many times because of not being able to find last mob.
Would love this, although not dropping from locked chests...

not bad but it may not help you. There are a few isolated areas that the monsters can run through a portal and you can not kill them.

It's not a gold sink if you can't buy it from NPC's :P
I wouldn't be in favor of this, plenty of people have legendary already without it, and finding the last group is usually a matter of looking at your U map and seeing where you missed, unless it's a patrol. The game doesn't need to be easier for lazy people.

Exactly the point. Did a few laps of Perdition trying to find one of those damn annoying Coldstones. Never quite sure which direction they travel, if I'm likely to meet them coming my way or if they're keeping pace with me going in the same direction on the opposite side of the damn rock.

I hate Anvil Rock, spent ten minutes running round that place looking for (about) two missing monsters. Never found them

Well, Elite Tomes only drop from bosses, so probably normal tome rate would be good.

Patrols move around. It's easy to miss one if you're sweeping the area, then go in the opposite direction the patrol is going in. The point is saving time by not running through a near empty zone 5-10 times over looking for a group of monsters that's moving too.

eh. /notsigned. Vanquishing is easy enough now, no reason to make it super easy. Part of the difficulty was in finding that last roaming patrol.

I do have trouble finding mobs, but I dont really have a problem with that.
In response to LordHeinous: I DO think that vanquishing is a test of your knowledge of enemy patrol movements, group placement and mob control, as well as your effectiveness in battle.
On a purely operational point, I cant see how this could be in some of the more overpopulated areas. For example, some of the southern shiverpeaks has a mob pretty much every few steps, the map would get pretty busy.
I do like the idea, but I dont really see any need for it.

Yeah, if you make them a rare drop, people won't use then in any and each vanquishing, they will probably eep them for when they can't find the last one.
