So, they have introduced a "humiliate your dead opponent" finishing-move aspect to the game. But they didn't do it properly. They should have gone the whole hog, and made the victim "scarred" somehow each time they take a direct hit from a /zrank:

eg. Their armour should progressively turn to nappy (diaper), baby bonnet, bib, etc. All frilly and lacy.

eg. They should be progressively covered with rotten slime, with flies buzzing around, and NPC's should say "eww... <character> smells of poo" when they pass by.

eg. Like drunkard, they should start saying things uncontrollably like "waaaa I want my mommy", "once more with feeling master" etc.

The effects should also be more or less exaggerated, according to the /zrank they were hit with. level1 /zrank should have little noticable effect, while level12 should make the victim hide in a corner crying.

This is not a serious suggestion. I think ranking a dead opponent is childish and bad sportsmanship.

good way to degenerate interest in Guild Wars amongst the faithful - that suggestion is one of the exact reasons why I play Guild Wars, and NOT one of the many noob/punk/L33T=idiot games that are out there

why don't people just /kneel in front of their dead enemy as a sign of honor? (just in PvP, PvE hunting trofees deserve a /cheer or /wave)

Yeah. But at a first read it sounds like you tell a serious idea, but I get the sarcasm in the whole picture.

why all these players feel "insulted" now with the new emote....

you didn't feel insulted with /dance, /taunt, "you are n00b" or whatever else people were saying/doing till now when beating someone in pvp?

I mean it's just an emote...nothing else...

Childish behaviour won't change if you add or remove emotes...
Enjoy the game and don't leave childish comments/ or actions make you feel sad.

You are right. But the difference here, is that A-net have now actively promoted such behaviour. Where will it end?

I think what some of us are saying is we would like a certain amount of class in the game. There are kids and adults playing this game. My problem isn't the idea of the Emote but why do we have to Humilate anyone. Taunting is one thing, calling someone a "N00B" is dumb, and the whole "You've been pwned" I will never understand. Yes I'm an older player and I play to relax and enjoy the game.
