An arena where random groups of monsters are pitted against each other and players can bet on the winner - a money sink, also contributes to the lucky and unlucky titles? possibly the gamer title too.

as an ex diablo2 player im always up for a good money sink

i cant really say its a bad idea, only that id rather see anet work on new playable content than new ways to waste money.

If Anet wanted to make a betting thing, it'd be an in game xunlai-house type betting thing for the monthly tournaments, or even daily ones (though people can totally rig the results). So they don't need to program the whole arena thing. But it's not going to get done.

I am really not very much into titles so you need not worry about your precious Gamer title

The idea behind this was inspired by:
a- the debate "which army would win"
b- the fact that in other games NCSoft staged such events where boss monsters, normal monsters and even dragons were made fight each other in an arena.

I doubt it would take much code writing to make this happen.

I will agree with it only if it is made by a race that would do so, like Nagas or Charr.

Hm... Charr could be a really good option.

But not by Norn, who prefer to fight themselves.
Nor humans, who do not usually condone this.
Or Asura, that prefer magical constructs.
Neither dwarves, which prefer to look at rocks rather than creatures killing themselves.

I would agree to count a bit for Lucky/Unlucky, but not for Gamer, which is strictly PvP.

It doesn't have to be organized by a specific race. One could just find fights in the observation mode, and the fights can take place in the existing arenas.
