bad idea
A. lot of code writing would need to be done for this to happen
B. many other things that have priority over this that needs to be done
C. i use my PvE as PvP at times and i don't have a problem with it
D. they made PvP characters for a reason
E.as soon as they would implement it it would most likely bug to hell and people would lose weapons and armor

In reading my previous post, I can see how it might seem to be a slam toward you, and I apologize, I did not mean to do so. My point was to reinforce the premise that this idea is not going to encourage a PvEr to PvP, as you, a 99% PvE clearly pointed out, because players play PvE and PvP for different internal, and certainly emotional reasons.

In my interviews with PvErs who have tried PvP and didn't stick it out, or become successful, I'm unclear as to specifics for why they "didn't care for it" but the gist I get is they tried it, and it sucked, and they'd rather play PvE.
Personally, I hated PvP: PvP is for Neanderthals. Mean people PvP. Then I got bored with PvE and figured out how absolutely outstanding the Guild Wars PvP system really is.
Now I'm Born Again PvX.

Or a bug where they get to take the armor/weapons out of the PvP areas with them. Free perfectly modded rare skins for all!

Don't worry, I know you didn't mean it like that, being why I used a funny word like "shmuck". I blew it out of proportion on purpose. Just messing around.

I wouldn't mind the skills part but I am partial on the armour part unless you are under 20 perhaps.

Credits to thoose who actually give reasons why they think it's a good/bad idea, that's what I love about forums. To keep a fair discussion even if the majority will think it's a bad idea. At least they have something useful to say.
But the 70% who just flames because they have nothing else to bring, if you think it's cool to flame then think again.

It's actually funny because when someone asked for making pve skins available to pvp characters by equipment creation people went berserk. But now when pve character wants to have stuff only available to pvp characters then it's okay.
Can you say hypocrisy?

How about allowing pvp character to travek to pve areas and entering explorable areas, mission etc?
It saves character slots!

Yeah, because Spamadan will be filled with: "WTB Blue Customized PvP Short Sword." No, not really. PvP has crap skins, and all the good skins are PvE or require investment into the flawed reward point system. And no one is going to buy someone's automatically customized, non-gold equipment with PvP in the name. Honestly, while there are SOME minor advantages and disadvantages, I don't see what is so game-breaking that this couldn't be implemented.

I actually think this is a very good idea. I have a pvp ready pve ele with armor and weapon skins that I like on it. However, it's a pain to carry around a couple sets of armor and weapon sets for every occasion. I would love for this to be implemented, but I know it won't happen.
Along these lines, I would like to see the option of being able to transform PVE chars into PVP ones and have that change permanent. You will then be able to use all unlocked skills, change runes and insignias from ur armors as u wish and weapons you own will be customized and treated as pvp reward items in that you can change the mods at will, but the base item stays the same.

What is there to add? You tell me.
PvP characters exist, and it's as simple as that.

Your suggestion would make the system unneccaserly complicated.
'If it aint broken, don't fix it'

Or as a certain game company likes to do with a certain game we all play:
"If it aint broken, fix it till it is"

I never said people would buy the items, I know they are customized. Was simply saying that people could unlock the skins and get the "rare" items without paying gold for them, like the fugly crystalline sword or torment items. I know that the reward system is crap, but that wouldn't stop people from using it.
