Skill Points
A lot of us have a ton of XP and with that a ton of unused Skill Points. Some have a few hundred while others have a few thousand. I would like to see another way to use them than buy skills with them. I have all the skills my main character needs and if I need a skill I just use one of my many tomes instead of paying 1k for it. Here are some examples I thought of; please post comments and any other suggestions.
• A special mini pet that costs like 500 or 1,000 Skill Points
• Trade for Z Keys
• An armor crafter that requires Skill Points (we already have crafters for Reputation Ranks and Faction)
• Trade for special event items
• Trade for Divine Aura (I’m laughing as I type it, but I do want it)
• A special weapons crafter
This is also a way to keep people playing PvE. PvP people can still get stuff from the Halls chest or the Z chest. This could also allow PvE people to get unique items (like tonics only available in a certain month from the Z chest). I’m not bad mouthing PvP, I play it also lol; I’m just trying to find other ways to use those unused Skill Points and making suggestions.

I also think they should allow you to buy skills with your skill points alone and no money if you want. Like 3 skill points per regular skill, and 5-10 skill points per cap sig.

Hmm, well i have to /Not signed to trade the Skill points for items and sutch.
Just dosn't sound right.
I would however /Signed for Changing them to some real use involving skills like now. (Posted above)
5-10 skill points for a normal skill instead of paying 1k for one once you have reached the max cost.
Or you can choose to pay gold instead if you don't have the points.

Gogo Skill point farming, lmao
This will totally own Raptor Farming if it's implemented, as I can get at least 100 skill points an hour :P
However, I do like the idea of being able to trade skill points exclusively for skills from a skill trainer. Don't like the idea of trading it for anything worth too much money, such as a Z-Key or minipet.
But can't you already use skill points for Con-Sets?

any of you got that thing called a brain?

another fine example of a retarded thread in suggestion forum

Maybe if all the items and such you trade for are automatically customized for your character I would consider it. As far as the Z-keys and mini pet absolutely not.

I find Minipets would be really cool... umh, when we would get some, those ones would become direct somewhat of common, that their worth would be instantly like only maybe 5 Plat or so and hourly decreasing, the market would get simple instantly flooded by them. So its no problem.
Same with Weapons.
Trading in Skills for higher SP cost, but having not to pay money then is also a very sweet little thing, that dshould have been so from the start on, but lazyNet never has done anything, about such a tiny, but good improvement all the years long. Such thigns are it, which make Anet really look pityful to me, that they need soo long to bring in needed changes to the game or they juts recognize the needs of the game not for years and ignore our complaints that show them exactly, where the problems of the game lie.
Would that be now a Bug, that we can't do this, then it would have found maybe sure recognition by anet -.-
Hmm, I'm for it, that we should be able to exchange SP for Skill Tomes. Say 10 SP for a normal some and 50 for an Elite. This way SP would get another usage and reduce the cost for us of buying Skils, that are already unlocked on our account.
And its imo obvious, that we should be able to trade "Skill Tomes" for "Skill Points"
I'd sign Z-Keys, when the exchange rate would be good, so not 1 key for 5 Sp only or so, maybe 1 Key for 20 or 25 SP.
Suggested things would be all good ways for Skill Point Sinks *g*, because imo the Consumeables are way too bad alone... Consumeables would have been better, would this stuff cost only SP and no materials, because the cons are the reason, why the cost of mats, like Feathers have exploded and doubled to trippled their worth in short time.
i for myself have a couple hundreds of unused SP and I'd find it very good, if there would be more alternative, then only those stupid consumeables, which require me also first to get the shit mats for them, anet trying hard to give the game more retarded money sinks >.<
And want to get rid of my useless Sp and get something useful by them, without beign forced first to waste tons of money for crap, I'll very rarely use, which means in retarded situations, where I as player have no other choice, due to elitist scum players, which kick you, when you don't come beign loaded with full sets and you trying to find a group for HM DoA)
/signed for more useful alternative ways to use SP, beside consumeables, which force you to waste money first ...
PS: /notsigned for Divine Aura, dream further..is a CE only feature and will ever stay so !!! When you want it so hard,m go buy the CE from Ebay

I agree with Phoenix Tears - *Divine Aura* was a benefit of buying the *Prophecies* collectors edition - and should remain exclusive to those who shelled out the extra $ for it IMO - not become a cheap and nasty gimmick for skill point trading.

Miniature? Maybe...
Zkey? ONLY for PvP characters.
Armor? Just no.
Weapons? No.
Event items? Why not? Events happen only once in a while.
Divine Aura? I don't really care, it's not like I'm getting it anyways, but the few people that got it already would whine like hell.

Maybe the OP isn't aware of it.... but you can already get something with skill points besides skills. Consumables. Those are a.net's answers to people with thousands of skill points, a gold sink, NOT a way to make money like you are suggesting (well, the only one of his suggestions that really generates money into the economy is the z-key idea, but you get the idea).

/Notsigned for trading for items.
But
/Signed for traded for skills without having to pay any money. I literally can't get through skill points quick enough yet I still have to pay to cap skills. A Cap Sig for 3 or even 5 skill points would be great, helpful and not imba.

Doing a raptor farm, you can easily get a skillpoint per run per minute. This means that the value of a skill point can't be worth much. Perhaps 3 points for a normal tome (~300g), and 50 for an elite tome (~7.5k) would be alright. No new gold is actually being injected into the economy, just gold being saved on skill learning (which is in effect anyway as you can buy tomes from any player in a town).
Minipet would have to be 250 skill points or more. Divine aura is right out, but z-keys don't really fit thematically. If they were introduced, it would have to be ~35 for 1 key to match current market prices and PvP Faction Zaishen farm rates.

You people thought I was serious about the divine aura... that's kind of amusing.
The extra skill point cost for less gold cost idea would be great.

I agree on the fact, that there should be some other way to spend our Skill Points, besides actually buying skills for 1k or crafting Consumables. I have about 1.000 unused Skill points and I'm sure there are many more with a few thousand.
The problem is.... Skill Points are too easy to get.
Every 2nd Raptor Run you will get a Skill Point.

I think it would be a good idea as long as you had to pay some amount of gold to get the item
Like a new armor piece would be 250 skill pts +10k.
I just want to see some gold getting out of the economy, probably not enough to actually do anything..but hey...It would help

Not to hijack your thread, but I had a somewhat similar thought relating to Hero Skills.
What if hero skill trainers worked similarly to normal skill trainers? By this I mean allowing you to use your hero skill points to gain skills already unlocked to your account. I realize the purpose that hero skill points serve, but after a while, gaining an abundance of them is just about worthless. At least normal skills can be used to purchase consumables. Also, since hero skill points take a much longer time to obtain than normal skill points, there would be a balance.
No offense, but your idea would be incredibly unbalanced. I liked untouchable's idea, though.

I dont mind rewarding people who do certain things over and over again, if its just for vanity and not any real advantage then they should be able to show off what they did by turning in skill points or anything else that takes grind in for at somethign tangible.
Even if youre not interseted in these items you cant argue that it doesnt add to the game... it would be worse if everyone had everythign the same and there werent any unique rewards for unique gameplay styles.
I kinda like it when I see someone with something I've never seen before and if they had to grind 20102390 hours for it then so be it... I dont care im not going to do it, but I enjoy the fact that others do and can show themselves off for my enterainment. Its kind of liek the guiness book of world records, yea the records are ridiculouse but its damn enteratining to see what these freaks pulled off.
