I think you should get a quest (only doable in HM) when you beat EotN to get to an hard reachable area of UW and find the weaponsmith or finish 1 spesific dungeon for each weapon type.
Make it harder, so it would be harder to abuse

yeah, sure, brilliant idea ... not
sorry, but the ability to chose your requirement attribute freely is plain stupid and imbalanced.
therefor, if you want said idea to be at least a bit serious, you'd have to make it that the only options/combinations possible are those now possible in the PvP equipment creation.
but then, you can make any weapon you'd be able to make nowadays already (some might cost an aweful lot, but you can still do it), so apart from a fancy name, there's nothing new then.

/signed but drop the "chose your requirement attribute freely idea" and add more prefix and suffix types instead which can not be replicated under the inscription system, let us choose min/max dmg und much more
examples:
you can have a spear with 14-27 dmg or 18-23 dmg instead (still balanced)
you can choose between Damage +15% while Health is above 50% and Damage +10% while Health is above 30%
..

To the people bitching about choosing Mods. You can already do this with an inscibable weapon. You buy/farm the mods, put em on the weapon. tadaa! The only real change is that you get to name it. So take your /unsigned and shine em up real nice......you know the rest.

/Signed, assuming these mechanics:
- All skins aside from ultra-elite (Tormented, Destroyer) are selectable, and item cost scales according to rarity. (e.g., a Short Sword would run you 5k, an Elemental Sword would run 100k)
- Mods are selected using a copy of the PvP Equipment panel, so that only possible stuff is craftable.
- You are allowed any name allowed by the filter, assuming it doesn't conflict with someone else's.
- The weapon is automatically customized to the character that crafts it.
- A base crafting cost in addition to skin selection, maxing out at 100k total.
- No further restrictions, because the weapon as presented above IS balanced, IS allowable in PvP, IS a do-able thing.

I'd like to see things like a Bow Grip of Beast Mastery or Wilderness Survival, or suffix's for weapons which give +1 in the primary attribute. For instance, a Mystic Scythe Snathe, an Expert's Bow String, Critical Dagger Tang. Imbalanced for PvP? I wouldn't know, but there is no reason why PvP weapons couldn't be made with those mods, but have those mode only available in PvE via the special green weapon creation system.

Why do people bitch that every idea introducing item creation will crash the economy? A large number of the GW players have easy access to the unique BMP weapons, and I don't think Kamadan has lost any of its ordinary spam because of it.
IMO, just add the ability to the weaponsmiths to change the name of any item you have. It should probably force you to customize the weapon just for kicks and people who get around the naming filter, but it really doesn't matter.

but
if it allowed to *transform* any existing item (not already customized to someone else) into a green with a name of your choice, customized to you, it would be pretty cool and fair for everyone.

If they would be imbalanced for PvP, can't they disable them for it then?
I'd like to see a blocking melee attacks chance 5% (PvE only, for two handed weapons, staffs) weapons etc...
