Solution for trading cap
Mostly in response to the recent Ecto scare, I propose that Anet should have some form of trading medium, seeing as the players cannot trade in increments over 100k without using an item, such as Ecto, or less commonly, ZKeys and Armbraces. If the title of the items sounds stupid, I don't care if they're changed to something more suitable. So I was thinking, an NPC selling an item that could be BOUGHT and SOLD for the EXACT SAME price, and DOES NOT drop from monsters or chests. The only way this item can be obtained is through the NPC.
Statue Trader:
Buys and Sells:
Wooden statue: 5k
Tin Statue: 10k
Copper Statue: 20k
Bronze Statue: 30k
Silver Statue: 50k
Gold Statue: 75k
Platinum Statue: 100k
Naturally, all prices and names are just for the purpose of example. Feel free to revise them if you wish.

Or just get coins/chests with coins (in your inventory). Double-click to get amount of money. Can't be used if the amount would make you have more than 100k gold.

That's also a good idea. I just noticed that people need something that doesn't fluctuate to be a trading medium.

If A-net did this don't you think they would just remove the cap? Or is there some reason why not?

I agree with both ideas. People need something so that they don't lose money on stuff they cant control

Maybe its a lot harder than just pressing a "Allow all values" button or something. Maybe some way the game is programmed won't allow them to do that? I dunno, there must be some reason. I don't see why they wouldn't allow it in the first place.

Add this to the merchant!!!
but dont need that many.. three kinds are enough imo
Copper Statue: 20k (should be changed to iron/steel Statue- just cause copper doesnt exist in GW(except some weaponds)
Silver Statue: 50k (change to gold statue, same reason)
Platinum Statue: 100k
This is the best suggestion of all times.

Reminds me of the old SNES game "7th Saga", where you bought gemstones like this since you lost 50% of your gold when you died.
15 years later, it's still an awesome idea.

In RL we have papermoney to pay with that replaces coins...
make 10k bills or 100k bills, figurativly speaking, so economy wont rely on ecto's...
EDIT:
In order to prevent people from argueing that all their money is in ecto, another idea:
You can trade in your ecto's in for the "bills", 2 ecto will give you 10k bill (or wtever pice is usable), so the people that would like to save ecto as trading materials can keep theirs, the ones that use them as currency can exchange them.

RL money works on the same faith system that ecto's did. IE; sudden influx of money leads to money becoming less valuable
I think this is a brilliant idea, it would remove the covertous nature of items like ecto's and be a 100% way to safeguard ingame gold against updates and price drops. Because it would be obtained exclusivly through some kind of NPC Merchant, and then ingame traders, the price would not
change at all, as we have seen with ectoplasm, Z-Keys and minipets.
Although Christ, Shadow Stepping scams would be truely epic. Imagine a newbie Ebay-account-buyer being scammed out of a stack of plat statues....

Are you joking? This has been suggested already, and it's as senseless as it has been all the other times.
Cash cap is no an issue to be solved. Is an intentional mechanic.
Now, instead of just replying again. Wait and think about GW trading is meant to work and why is that cap there.
If you don't agree with the cap, you haven't though enough, and you should wait and think more.

How do you know its an intentional mechanic? Only a dev would actually know that for sure.
I would also like you to come up with two possible reasons for having the 100k cap, because none come to my mind, and I've thought about it for almost 3 years.

I had a similar thread a couple years back...but I only used Platinum bars at 100k each. They would stack @ 250 per stack.

Because it was the Devs answer to such questions in in-game and wiki talks before.
Try to google for it.

You really only need the 100k item, as any number of those plus what gold you have on your person can be any value.
Something that is 935.4k would be 9 Plat Statues + 35.4k

Anet put the cap there for a reason. It is not some bug or error that needs to be fixed so it doesn't need a solution. If they wanted trades to go above 100k they would increase the cap.
