An island for each profession
I think this would be a freaking awesome idea.
Each profession has an island that they can go to. On that island there are activities like maybe an obstacle course or contests of skill (fastest to take down X number of X monsters) or a king of the hill. You get the idea.
With those activities there are titles. So the fastest time on the ranger obstacle course has a name that only that ranger can have until it is beat. The one who beats it now gets that title. So it is incentive to maintain a title. Along the lines of KOABD there could be a max title that could be achieved by having the best times/accomplishments in all categories at once. Thought this would be a great way to incorporate community within the professions. Now these would work better with those people who are in love with a specific profession.
Anet could also have prizes awarded for completing all tasks in a certain range of time or damage or whatever.
Just some thoughts. What do you guys think?

Sounds great actually although I don't like the title idea as we all know what that would promote.
I like the core idea of going to a class restricted section to share experiences and ideas though.

Ya, no more titles. Tho the title that other people can take is kinda interesting. Idk if it would be good or bad, but interesting.
But good idea!

lol didn't realize there was that much of a burn out with titles.
My thinking is that there is only like 3 or 4 titles per profession period. Not everyone would have that title only one person per profession in all of guild wars would have it, that is what would make it unique. Doesn't really matter that much to me either way, just throwing ideas out there that sounded cool.

even better...
each profession has their own island. each profession can invade/defend their own island. one profession can travel to another one's island, and it would be all out war, all 5000 characters fighting it out in our computer screens FOR WORLD DOMINATION!!!!!

The problem is the obvious effect it would have on these areas.
If you add titles it will firstly segregate the players in the section and too many people would merely concentrate on attaining them rather than communicate with other players who enjoy the class.
I'm not a fan of titles but it wouldn't ruin such an idea or area, it would just make it less enjoyable imo.

The concept is not a bad idea. But like others have said, the title thing is a no. All that's needed is a Record NPC like in the Challenge missions to record the best times.
/sign for the concept, /notsigned for the titles
Idea: Why not turn the old Prophecies arenas into these(for the core professions)? And add 6 areas in Factions, and 6 in Nightfall, one fore each profession that you can make in those campaigns.
For the Prophecies Arenas being turned into the profession areas, it would go like it:
Kryta Arena: Warrior
Maguuma Arena: Ranger
Desert Arena: Mesmer
Droknar Arena: Necromancer
Ring of Fire Arena: Elementalist
(New area): Monk (as there are not enough closed down arenas)
Or, the areas could just be added to the Battle Isles like how the Guild Halls were, either works.
Edit: Titles is not the reward that should be used, but there should be a reward, like weapons for that profession, or low amounts of gold (all based on how well you did).

I like the idea of islands for achievements, but not the titles. I was thinking something like this earlier in the day where there would be profession-specific quests that would be like mini-games.

I'd go with none.Period.
What that does is purely promote it as an area to have a chat and share advice with others who enjoy the class.Your effectively filtering out any competitiveness in the area which only leaves room for, hopefully, relaxed socializing.
The potential such an idea has for improving the community as a whole is really quite staggering in terms of beginners or less experienced players being able to garner class specific build, gear, mission, PvP, etc, etc advice from those with more experience.
In saying the GW community would probably turn it into an area for flame wars over builds and how 1337 they are.
Still...great idea.

Actually, not a bad idea. You could have like a ranger target range with targets moving at variable distances, any skills allowed and you have to weapon swap to hit certain ones. Maybe sticking RTW in to hit moving targets.
And interuption practise with ele monsters running at you and casting spells of varying cast times.
Maybe with varying difficulties and "practise" modes, to give new players an introduction to what it means to play that particular class.
As Fireflyry says, it might be a nice area to share advice and such.

I suggested something similar a while back.
My idea was to have each profession recieve profession only quests that take place on Island of the Nameless, or some completely new island.
The monsters on the island would range from lvl 0 to 30, well spaced out and agro would be triggered by the players/teams lvl rather than by the agro bubble.
Mosnters either would have 0 drops, the quests rewards would be scalled based on the lvl of the player/team and the difficutly they chose.
Or they would have drops but be limited to non-gold items, you could still get a max r9/8 item with inscriptions but Purple. This should prevent abuse as a farming location.

I like it, too late for GW1 I'm afraid.
They should implement this with GW2 so that each race has it's own starting area, but I'm sure that will be the case.

They kind of have this on the Isle of the Nameless already, just not to the extent that you're proposing.
