As long as it seems SF and UB are not going to be nerfed, I think Rangers need some love too.
This sentence is the only reason I /sign this.
But, if UB and SF get nerfed, then I don't think it should be implemented.
Anet, either destroy the game or try to rebuild it, stop this in-between sh!t you have going on.

I'm confused. When has trapping in a party ever been viable in PvE apart from organized friends and guild groups? Sure, it's fun in an all-trapper group for a while, but it is time-consuming and arguably less effective than other alternatives. There's nothing stopping you now from forming these sorts of parties if you want. It's a game after all, and if you find that fun, more power to you.
Do you mean solo? Solo-trapping still works fine on a ranger. Or are you asking for Energizing Wind to have a PvE split to make it easier? You can still solo many places, including UW and Veil, as a trapper.
Energizing Wind seems a decent candidate for consideration as a PvE skill; it really doesn't hurt to bring it back.
edit: I hope this isn't too far off-topic, but if you want to solo trap Stygian Veil, you still can. I wrote a guide here.

Stygian trapping was the only solo pursuit I was ever any good at. I want my Energising Wind to energise me, not give me a brief kick up the ass.

Answer - Urgoz's Warren. The solo trapper would run ahead, place traps and pull the group into the traps, other rangers would use splinter / barrage and pets to attack them, necro MM would turn the pets and dead things into minions, elementalist nuked about the same time the rangers started, 2 rits had a wall of spirits up and monks heal. When done correctly it was just a beautiful thing to see happen.
I don't ever expect to see such a coordinated action in guild wars 1 or 2 again.

Never been to Urgoz, thanks for that. I don't discount their usefulness in an organized group, however, as I mentioned above. Most PuGs don't understand tactics, calling, pulling, ignore radar pings, etc. More often than not, the traps get wasted in PuGs.
