Ability To Change Guild Names
I'd like to change my guild name and tag as I would like to change the name, but don't want to lose all the money put into the hall.
Have it like account names but maybe only every 2 months so it's not like people are changing names daily.
Idea: For 25k you can change the guild name by talking to your guild lord- only guild leaders have this ability.
Do vote

Priest and Storage only cost 20k combined, that's all you really need.

But he's talking about the hundreds of plat paid for all that cool stuff you don't really need
Yeah guild name changes would make things more convenient for a lot of people. Have the guild lord able to do it for like 25k or something.
Anyways i voted yes.

Heh, all I ever get is Merchant, Storage, and Balth dude at start if I don't recruit right away. But it'd suck to lose everything you've donated to your hall just to change the name.

I like the 25k idea, just to stop it being abused and becoming more of a hassle than a good thing.

Agreed, I would love to change the names of my characters, as well as physical appearance without losing my armor, weapons, skills, titles, quest status quo, etc.
/signed for the idea.
Name changes can be made, however, if you desire a name change really badly, you can do this. I do this occasionally when we get bored of a name.
Get a secondary account (Prophecies is $20 US currency in some stores) and place it as the leader of your current guild. Take your main account and create the new guild, spend 2k on your desired cape, put it in an alliance with the other guild. You can simply go to that guild's hall for the NPC's. You just have to click a tab to access it. Not as fast as a button press, but a few extra clicks won't kill you.

I would like to as it may make my guild look better as I am not the founder but the promoted leader.

I guess I would /sign just because I see a lot of guilds with names that can be made a lot better better with simple mods. Not sure how feasible it is from a programming stand point to do that.

Think of all the confusion it could cause in PvP.
Tournaments like the recent Guru GvG would be much harder to organize and keep control of, because on top of rating tanking and smurfing there would be name changing for allowing even easier abuses.
Also, certain guilds are known for playing only 1 gimmick build, this makes them subject to easier counterstrategies. They could change their name very often for advantage.
There are also regular GvG Automated Tournaments, and between matches players often watch observer to get hints at what their opponents may be playing. Highly competetive guilds that can't instantly be recognized
Whoever played any serious HA should know all the stupidity that happens connected to ganking in HoH (or Courtyard). With ability to change guild names this could become even more stupid - play at an unknown guild name, gank whoever you want and never get ganked back if you switch name.
And now think about Xunlai Tournament House predictions, they would be totally random and pointless with guilds changing their names all the time. To some extent this already happens with the HB mAT predictions.
So a system which only use would be generating confusion is a bad idea.

/signed - I think this would be a very good idea.
But like name changes, ArenaNet wouldn't do this because it would cause a massive confusion among players.

Make it 100k, and only able to change it once every 10 weeks or so. Otherwise, this gets too abusive.

It would be nice to change your guild's name without having to start a whole new guild entirely. Especially if you paid for a full hall before, and now the sigils have gone up in price (well that was a while ago but they're still more expensive than when I first made my old guild).
But at the same time I can see why this is a problem, since they also don't allow us to change character names. I'm guessing that's almost the same thing and something Anet would rather not focus on since they're working on Guild Wars 2. Perhaps for that they'll allow a name/guild name-change option.

But there should be an option to see which names a guild had in the past years/months/weeks. And you shouldn't be able to change it every day, just once a week or something like that.
