New Elite Area - Melandru or Lyssa?
Hey all its Wolfie here... and I just wanted to ask you all at ANET that since the Beta got pushed back a year and all, and we are all bored out of our minds in PvE... how about a build out of a new Elite area? Like Balthazar's FOW and Grenth's UW... but in this case, have like a Melandru or Lyssa world to go to! Like Melandru's area be this deep dense forrest like Urgoz, but not so dark and gloomy, but more bright and filled with Animal Monster's. Or Lyssa's world, filled with mazes, mirror's and such. I am sure players would be more then occupied for over a month or two or even three with a new area to farm and test their metal (or Bear fur). So how about it? I am sure it wouldn't be to to drastic an off shoot to make since it will be "one area" as opposed to 30-40 areas and towns... and it will more then passify players for a while, waiting for GW2 to come out. I have made this suggestion to several people all over the game, along with holding in-game forums... and I have had nothing but complete support for this... Please consider it on behalf of the PvE nation of Guild Wars.

I actually love this idea, nice suggestion. A lot of players are noticeably starting to lose interest in GW, and even for people who still love to play like me, this would be something very new and exciting.
Even if it may not be this specific idea, i hope ANet does decide to keep throwing new stuff at us somehow to keep us occupied while we patiently wait for GW2.

A fellow wolf! Hi!
Back on topic - I've been wondering if they'd ever allow an elite area for all five gods instead of just the current two. I like the ideas, as long as there is some benefit to them as well (armor in FOW, ectos in UW). Maybe some new weapons that can be added to HOM?

If I have to choose between a forest where everything uses [whirling defense] and [distracting shot] and a maze where everything spams [energy surge] and [cry of frustration]...
Fun idea though.

Please dont forget, that in areas like FOW, all the professions are in those areas as foes... so not everything in Merlandu's area would be Rangers... but it would hold all professions, just like FOW and UW do...

A new area will bring more life to GW. I guess that by now most of us have done everything there is to do and a little more with the same characters or different ones (I have 11 and 1 extra slot).
I know that Anet Team is working hard in GW2, but I seen a lot of people starting to loose interest after trying the same areas over and over. Even in my guild we have done urgoz, deep, fow, etc with crazy builds and ramdom characters, even once with no monks at all.
We all love the game, but even I find myself playing GW maybe an hour a week when before I would do between 5 and 10.
Anet give us something to breathe. Something to keep us busiy while the time for GW2 arrives. Please develop a new area for us.

Look at this in 2 ways please....
1.) treat this like a petition.... ANET is the supplier, we are the cleintel... and we the cleintel or the people are loosing interest in this game and are starting to drift away from the game... everyone admits it... and we need somthing new, because doing nothing about it for a year will cause a big problem on everyone... even ANET
2.) The best way I see it is to create a new Elite area... I mean... how many times do you play FOW or UW? now compare that to say a Mission, or a points farm and such... which do you do more, missions or farms or the Elite Missions? We all do FOW and UW more then anything... and having a new flavor to go to would perk everybodies interest for a few more months. Its less combersome then an entire campaign (like EotN) and it will be played more often. Think.... How many times has it been, that someone says "Lets farm Fow or U-dub" and you get 5-11 guildie saying "YA!"?

/signed, and agree with Wolf wholeheartedly. As a suggestion, though, make EotN skills unusable in these Realm of God's, kinda like an old school match instead.
ie: No Ursan!
or, for even more hardcoreness, make it w/o any elites at all. I'd def do that, or at least try.

suggested before and i've always liked the idea. Although every time its been brought up people always talk about Mel and Lyssa, but what about Dwayna!? Monks need some love too
Anyways, would love to see a new elite area. Anet is losing a lot of players, which doesnt really concern them economically, as we have already paid our money, but if they love us, they really should give us something to hold us over till GW2.
yay for more elite areas!

A maze with never ending results so you can't run it the same way would be great. For example, each action causes the maze to shift. With walls so tall you can't see past them, would be greater.

For me will always be like this:
- Melandru: A huge forests with plants from all the world scattered all over, where druids give missions and random level 20 pets with random evolutions can be captured after finishing the missions, including one unique to the area.
- Lyssa: A massive maze made out of moving walls, where muses give hints to get to the center of the labyrinth.
- Dwayna: A playground where you can play against intelligent creatures from all around the world, and earn tickets you can use to join minigames when there are no events. (A way to earn the right to earn gamer points all year). Win a race versus a Charr, Defeat an Asura in Tic Tac Toe, Beat a Norn in a Drunk-a-ton, etc...

Making a new elite area to a dying game is prolly not the best step to take from a financial stand point. So I guess the question becomes: Will you be willing to pay for an expansion that includes new Realms of the Gods?
If anet find out that a good number of players are willing to spend X dollars on a downloadable expansion, they might consider that more seriously. The way it stands atm there is no real incentive.

I agree but only if it is well designed and pretty
I.E not a barren dark wasteland full of stupid tentacles and bright colours and enemies who look like octopuses and mutants and are only hard because they are a few levels above you and they use stupid monster skills and you can only get in a group to do it if you run one of two builds and where the reward does not match up with the time and skill required to play it :P
I think you get the idea.
