I think the OP means if he accidentally opens the chest too many times and doesn't have any more invintory space, he has to LEAVE z-chest drops on the ground and lose them perminantly (even if he zones). A merchant would allow people to use hundreds of chests at once and ID, salvage, and sell the junk ones right there.

/signed, i dont have a guild or a guild hall to teleport to, i gotta click on the map and the boat thing and everything. No reason the city shouldnt have a merchant though. Would make things easier every once in a while

The problem is, the z-chest doesn't have a dialog option when you click on it like every other chest to make sure you want to use the key. If you click on it, it opens. A lag spike/losing track of keys can happen pretty easily.
And besides... how exactly is this "lazy?" Should the merchants that already exist in explorable areas like in Factions be removed because it's "lazy?" It is the same dang thing.

Makes sense. Please also add a tolkano to the alliance battle outposts, it's annoying to have to keep zoning to guild hall to get zkeys.
