Much like Hawk-O-Storms I've never had the dishonorable hex. I don't AB much, but I do RA to kill time and practice new GvG builds. I don't go there to "farm" glad points, I can do that in TA.
RA is 1000 times better than it used to be since the Hex was implemented.
As for griefers, If they are on my team I ask them to die and stop wasting everyones time then I /resign. Typically I'll have to ask them to die a couple times but thats it, they stop and die. If the griefer is on the other team, I simply sit down and get some water or a snack or PM some chat until the timer dies IF they don't respond to the "please stop wasting everyones time" line.
@ OP, if your kid runs into a griefer why can he not say to you "Hey mom/dad this douche bag is running around for like 5 mins, can I have an extra 5 in GWs?" If you agree that griefing is ruining your kids experience then why would you not give him 5 more minutes? I think telling him it's ok to quit on his teamates is a bad lesson for the future, and blaming faults int he system for it is also a bad idea.

Whether it gets fixed (Which I hope it does, for the sake of legitimate players) or not, I'm still going to take advantage of it the same way I'm taking advantage over consumables and Imbagons.
As for a 2 minute timer, I generally agree with that idea. Either that or allow you to leave when a certain requirement is met e.g. when a certain amount of people have quit or have died.

I seriously hope Arena Net is reading the above, and then DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

thats retarded. So, im the last guy left, a ranger with escape, and 1974194 other things so i cant die. I'm vs. 1 warrior, a sin and a monk. The warrior is a true warrior with no hel breeze or mending. He chases you for 30seconds and cant hit u cause u 24/7 run 33% faster, he suffers? Thats cool.

The sin can probably snare you or something but yes, that IS stupid. Then ppl would just run around for like 10minutes to win A match. Bullshit

Ok, honestly how many of you actually RA on a daily basis? because what I'm hearing here is oh the dishonor system works and there are no problems because of this, this and this. But if you actually play RA frequently you see that it isn't working at all. All it's doing is annoy the hell out of good players.
I advocated a dishonor system at one point but the way it's currently implemented now is complete crap. It's more like a thing they just put in and forget. I haven't seen any modifications or improvements since it's initial months of implementation, despite numerous shortcomings many players have pointed out already.
Here's some simple examples:
-No way to check your accumulated dishonor pts
-Leaving immediately after all teammates are dead results in dishonor pts
-/resign makes no difference in a match because 9 of 10 times the noobs are too stupid to know how to use it.
-And of course the griefs wasting everyone's time which has already been pointed out Ad infinitum on this thread
Yes, I do agree dishonor has stopped ragers at the beginning of the match but there is so much room for improvement and I do not see ANET doing jack about it.
Some of you claim there's no accurate way to determine when leaving a match is legit. I have to disagreed with that. I like many of the suggestions mentioned here already and if we combine them together and tweak, I say it will come pretty close in making that assessment.
For example:
-reducing the time limit by x every time a player dies
-you can also check team morale. winning team (team with more kills usually) will 9 times out of 10 have higher morale.
-check how many team members are dead and whether they can be ressed
-the /resign feature can still be used. In the event you get team members competent enough to know how to use /resign, if the majority resigns, leaving at that point should not count towards dishonor. Or at the very least shouldn't count as much.
-the dishonor points can even be set to accumulate less taking the above cases into account. eg. leaving a team where everyone is dead adds 2-3 pts to your dishonor instead of the normal full amount.
Many of these suggestions are fairly straightforward to implement. If ANET really claims to monitor the dishonor system and how well it works, why don't they just take some of these suggestions listed here by players and give them a try for a week or so? If it works and improves the over gameplay great. If not, just revert it back.

RA isn't a glad point farm, or at least it was never meant to be. If you're so RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing good at why don't you go to TA? That's cause you're not, and there aren't any "good" players that RA on a daily basis because they have better things to do, like GvG, HA, HB and TA. RA is just a filler for when you've got nothing better to do or you're waiting on a game.
-It's not a title.... there's no need for you to be able to check it, just count how many times you've raged.
-Cause waiting for 15 secs for the game to be over is so hard to do.
-Noob or not, they are 1/4 of the team, no matter how special you think you are.
-QQ Moar (Already posted about this).

There's a reason why the people here don't work for ANet. The reason the listed suggestions aren't being implemented is because they cause more problems than they solve.

Well spoken Proff, you shall be my write in vote for President this year, I typically write in Bugs Bunny.
I agree there are no good players being annoyed in RA, they are in TA, HA and GvG being annoyed by FotM gimmicks.

No change needed imo. If you have so little time you shouldn't be playing PvP. If you play with or against others you'll need to adjust to your team. Leaving is not part of that.
So better stay with heroes or henchies if you want to leave at any time or when the situation gets annoying.

QFT. Lots of good players doing PUG in AB because they have a better chance playing with team players instead of self centered jerks.

Well in AB the word "team" kind gets lost loz. Usually you get mixed up pretty fast unless you wait for your mates to rez/stay together at ALL times. That don't happen so much in PUGS.

I made a suggestion like this a while ago, I think the best way to do it would be to take away punishment for leaving when only one of your teammates are still alive.
