Remove the Kick Function
Alright, I have been thinking... the kick function has been more negative than positive. In PUGs they generally start terrible arguments of "u noob yd u kick me" and "OMG noob build KICK!!!!". My way around this is veto, like they have in Halo, where most people need to agree that person needs to be kicked. After a person has been vetoed, they will be given 5-10 seconds before being formally booted (this gives them a chance to leave themselves).
I know its not much, but when I was starting in UW and other PUG group environment, i was always kicked because of being a noob and i would willingly leave if people told me to. I found it disrescpetful and rude and everytime i start a group i make kicking an option to the person who is targeted. Leave willingly or in 5 seconds ill kick (or less for bad behavior)
Any other ideas (not including OMG DON'T PUG, PUGing includes flaming!!!), id be glad to hear em.

Eh. Signed for the amusement such a change would undoubtedly bring. I might join a PUG just for that, because annoying the group leader would be even more fun then.

PuG's already take ~15 minutes to be formed.
Lenghtnening that is just boring.
And what about trading? When I'm trading and see something I want to buy or someone that wants one of my items, I invite them, to see their location. Most of the time they accept as they aren't very experienced, and then, if I want to keep my position in Party Search, I have to kick them.
Kicking also allows for quickly dispatching people that just doesn't fits in the situation, like when farming LB/SS and a guy invited doesn't knows how it works and hasn't finished NF. Then the whole group screws and there are ocasionally some very slow peeps that take their time to response.
When you're pugging you either fit or don't fit according to the leader's eyes. Live with it.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
What if you invite someone by accident and they dont want to leave? And people are afk? What then? The person the organized the group deserves to have the option to kick them. Its their group. And if for a group...this guy has the worst bar ( some guy had this ranger with all mes skills ) 2 ppl were afk...i kicked him without even thinking for even 2 seconds

Horrible idea...leave it as-is, party leader can kick whom he/she wants. That's the whole benefit to being party leader.

This is a horrible idea. But what they should remove is the kick option from guilds. The leader of a guild has the right to kick anyone from the guild in my opinion. I belieave that only the guild leader can kick while the officers are not allowed to. I am very catuious of promotiong people because I am scared they shall kick people out because of no reason.
- This whole entite idea is horrible because as I said the leader of anything is the leader and he has the right to kick anyone no matter if they have a good
reason or not.
/nosigned move on and get over it like songbringer said if you dont like the group or something about partys than dont join other people in missions or stuff go with heros and stuff than

Nope. we need the kick. Sucks that you got kicked a lot, but there's some very kickworthy people who just won't leave a group of their own free will.

That is why they are the leader of the party...they have the ability to kick you. Starting a PUG is already a painful enough process...I dont think we need to make it worse.

wayyyyy back in 05 there was this thread. http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=15509 titled "please add a "Kick" function" so removing somthing they added that has been in the game since 05, i dont think that will happen, same with the vote kicking. just read that thread for reasons cause there is only trolls on the forums now (compared to 05)

/not signed with a cherry on top!
I'm not a fan of egotistical party leaders who "insta-kicks" people because either a party member has a crap build or a good build that the party leader can't comprehend (many people can't tell the difference). BUT, if someone who joins a party shows themselves to be a jerk or an idiot (who won't listen to suggestions to improve their bar), the party leader should maintain the ability to kick him/her/them.
I could give a bunch of examples of player behavior that would warrant them being kicked from the party (AB leechers, for one), but I don't see the need, since most people here already know them and many more!

I'am sorry but that notion is a bit silly, if you got kicked from a team, sorry, they just did'nt want you. So don't cry over a bloody function in a game please, and about the guild leader only being able to kick, yea that would cause alot of problems. Like say if a fight broke out between members in your guild, while you are not on, you have a risk of losing more members from a stupid little scuffle. You put trust in your officiers, that is why you must choose wisely and not all willy nilly. All I can say this thread was a waste of time for alot, leave the kick function be and stop being cry babies about a damn game.

A better idea would be a system to kick the leader. You know.. when your party leader is either afk/stupid... mainly for afk, a 5 out of 8 majority vote would be able to kick him. Certainly not what the OP said.. that's just silly.

first of all i just read the OP, but i know how i respond when being the party leader. if the 'noob' in question needs a build change, i ask them to change it. occasionally i encounter the 'omg i can't change my awesome build that worked once!' kind of person. when this happens i just kick b/c they aren't willing to help the team with that attitude. if they are willing to change(sometimes they dont have the skills unlocked) then ill keep em. I take players that are willing to help.

Don't see any reasoning behind this. It's like saying "I wish there was a vote to delete scammer's accounts" because you weren't smart enough to look carefully at the trade window.
