perhaps you need to join a new guild or update your friends list then .. .
and perhaps you need to read what i posted again. my point was not that the friends list and guild list is a better way to judge the amount of people but rather that its the reason why most people don't use xfire. why use xfire to track your friends in game when there's already an in game method to do that?
probably the only way the community would be able to get a gist of the total number of active players is to see how many districts there are during the festival events. last one i went to there were around 120 districts on just the american side so multiply that by the max number of people in a district and we'll get a better idea.

There you go trying to make sence. You know it will just confuse people.

While I agree with the no more minis I dont know what I want for a 4th year. How about a personalized weapon. Put a dealer, one in the major towns KC,Kamdan, LA, and you take your 4th year token (personalized) and can create your own green with your own name. It has any of the available mods but cant be made god like its like making a custom gold, or one of the PvP weapons. The difference is its "Nighteyes Claws" or some such after your char.

they will use the mini's again cause of:
there knowlage of already doing it,
there lazyness to do somthing else,
if they did do somthing else there are so little programers left for gw's1 it would take for the 5th year b4 they came out.

Attirudes like this amaze me.
Buy a game and have unlimited online play time...for 4 or more years.
That should be enough!
Sick of minis anyone? Give them away, dump em in the trash if you like.
On second thought...I demand a playable Oink mini (takes 0 damage). Great tank and the least Anet can do for anyone who is nice enough to use bandwith for 4 or more years for a minimal investment.
I'm sure I would feel differently if Anet was decent enough to at least charge me $180/yr plus game cost.

Mini Kilroy coming up ---- I can feel it. I doubt that there will be anything other than minis. They'll continue with what they have been doing, keep the masses content with more of the same old same old. I personally would like to see an extra "page" of slots in my storage account. Not visible to others and hence no "epeen" from it, but sooooooooooo much more useful to me. XD

Or maybe you could just sell them and gain money without doing anything more than waiting?
Some people like minis...

Something automatically customized for the player that gets it. It can be a mini, no problem with that, but a non-tradeable one.

NO.
Birthday presents are miniatures. Period.
What we need is a way to store them.

The boss aura could be a title, when equipped, you gain the aura. However, it could, perhaps, find space on the account page or something. That way, titles could still be displayed.

It would look horrible, and serve the same glowy e-peen enlargening as chaos gloves on a black FoW wearing, ninja mask monk.

A true veteran is one that has played alot and not by how old their character.
Mini pets are grand out, their a nice gift boss auras or stuff like that will just look silly, tons will have it and it'll jsut end up being meh standard like chaos gloves.

Boss Aura would be cool. Maybe not for 4th year birthday. Some other achievement perhaps?

A reusable inscription / insignia combination applicable to any shield, weapon, or armor, that says Additional +50% Pwn Vs. PvE (stacking).

I personally like the minis. I'd love to see some more of them added. I was shocked to see that the green third year mini wasn't Glint, as everyone suggested it. So for the green for fourth year, make it Glint. As for the others, I don't know. How about for gold, a mini Great Destroyer and Abaddon? Something like that anyway.
But instead of minis, another option would be an armor closet, weapon cabinet, mini trunk, and just overall more storage space.
Guild Wars 2 would be nice, if it was released before the fourth anniversary of the game. hehe Sure they could do both but I'd be more thrilled with the sequel's release than with more minis.
