I don't love the BMP to begin with but if they were going to bring out another one anyway I must admit I'd be partial to this.
I've always loved a good untold story.

i like it. A net took that out of the hands of the consumer from the start. i always thought it would be kinda cool to play as you said, as a char, or maybe a summit general and so on. we spend the entire series killin these guys for reasons that at times are awful flimsy lol. at least this way we will know what the other side was thinkin.

Playing as the villain in GW?
Do want! The events should be something that ends successfully for the villain though. Shiro got captured/killed/whatever on the day of the Jade Wind, so that wouldn't be a good play.

If the villains were to be successful, then it'd have to be something in the future rather than in the past, which I'm guessing the books will cover, I.E Palawa Joko raising his army after his rebirth.
Primordous (sp?) taking over basically all of the guild wars world...
etc, etc.
Although the Charr idea could work, It'd be the only one successful.

im following ya placebo, i like that idea. Its like i said in an earlier post, "if GW does not introduce new content (expansion of some sort) and GW2 does not release until 2010, i think well be lookin at a dead title guys. the current content will not survive a year and a half without fresh meat.

Oh, totally /signed, it was sickening how our character is forced into the role of the dim-witted, gullible hero, it'd be nice to play as someone other than that guy :P
Actually, knowing ArenaNet, it would come out being full of cringeworthy dialogue one might expect from Talon Silverwing or Devona, so actually... /notsigned

Not a bad idea, but I would rather see that ArenaNet would give more options for our existing characters instead.

I think the "Villain Mission Pack" is an outstanding idea. I'm sure quite a lot of people would like to play missions where they get to nuke Ascalon, drown Orr, capture Rin, assassinate the Emperor of Cantha etc etc etc.

Would I enjoy having (more) quests or missions where I get to chose the "right" thing or the "wrong" one?
Yeah - it would be fun! Especially if it would have an influence on the game!
Would I enjoy playing quests or missions where I am not playing with my character of choice?
Nah. That's the reason why I also didn't throw the money out for the BMP.
So, I like the idea, I don't like the execution.

Probably what Factions should have been.
Luxon VS Kurzic should have been the place for players to work for the dark side or not.
In the period between early Dungeons and dragons and the advent of computer RPGs there was a time where players doing the dirty and being able to play shifty unreliable characters with their own agenda became quite popular.
Role playing is quite sanatised these days, it would be fun to be the baddie or one of his henchmen occasionally.
I think that was one reason I played Dungeon keeper a lot some years back.
mission pack might be fun but like the previous mission pack a little boring after a day or so.
If your going to invest time and money writing something make it more worth while.
They already have City of Heroes City of Villains so why ever not.

One of the interesting things about GW is that many of the "villains" are not so clearly villainous when you think about it. The land known as Ascalon belonged to the Charr before humans came and pushed them out, and they are simply reclaiming their territory. Shiro was clearly an honorable man who was tricked into committing a dishonorable act. The Mursaat were panicked by the threatened genocide of their race and, unfortunately, decided to adopt King Herod's solution to the problem. It could be a lot of fun to see the story from those points of view.

Evil must be annihilated.
No one should impersonate evil.
Evil is not fun.
Lionhead studios committed grave sins when they added the choice of good and evil to their games.
The only possible dark side is the side to self-destruction.
Only good-doing is fun.
It doesn't matter if it's fiction or a game or whatever.
Evil must be destroyed at all costs, even from fiction.
We impersonated D'Alessio, and were tricked by the white mantle, and that is the nearest possible we should get to evil.

Poor Lionhead. I love Fable
Anyway, I'm at the point where I almost wish they'd stop supporting GW so they'd actually work on GW2. New content would be good, and I admittedly even like the idea, but it's pulling time away from GW2, so I have to pass.
