We got D and P weapons in cantha, now armor!
I know this has been a topic before and maybe I even made this a topic before some time back but I think it's time to make this voice re-heard after so long.
I remember myself and many others asking for spears and scythes in cantha and though it took some time we finally got a reason to go through the cantha storyline.
I can forgive the lack of VARIETY with there being really just 1 scythe and 1 spear but now I think there is one last loose end to tie up, that being armor.
Not counting obsidian and eotn.... the number of armors for A/Rt's and D/P's...
Dervishes and Paragons: 4 elite armors in elona, 0 in cantha
Assassins and Ritualists: 5 elite armors in cantha, 2 in elona.
4v7, you decide O.o and don't forget elite A and Rt skills in elona as well. But with how the skill hunter titles are set up I think it would be too much to change that now.
But armors I could see. I say the Dervishes and Paragons get at least 2 armor sets out of cantha as well. I think exotic and imperial are more canthan-only compared to luxons and kurzicks, thus lux/kurz armor would be my choice for D's and P's. Also I would just mention that while I guess the luxons and kurzicks would accept anyone to help them out in AB battles... they just don't seem to have D or P armor! I find that silly ~_~ prepostorous!
All of those dervishes and paragons without Lux/Kurz armor to represent their faction love. Heck we get skills but no armor! lame!
that would make it 6vs7 now. A good final one would obviously be elite canthan but I can live without that one and sleep well.
Also perhaps 2 kinds of scythes and spears... jade and ambers. that is all.

i guess someone didnt realise factions was made before dervishes and paragons existed. the only reason the can get end game wep from prph is rcuz there WAS no end game weps in proph so they added becuz the otehr games had them. i doubt they will add dervish and paragon armors in factions its waay to late in the game.

Ummmm... Factions end game greens... look at them, they added dervish and paragon greens. Oh look... like you said, factions was made before dervish and paragons existed. Yet they still have weapons in factions that were added just a few months ago. So why not armor?
Anywho, to the point. I think dervish and paragon lux/kurz armor would be pretty nifty.

I fully agree with the armor in Cantha. I for one am not thrilled with the armors available for the paragon in elona, especially the elete armors, that leaves EOTN to get armor to fill the HoM. And well, the armors from EOTN have a lot to be desired as well. Although I do like the Norn armor for paragon. But, I agree, we need more choices. I would like to see elete luxon/kurzick armor available ALONG with elite Canthan (I guess that's what the end game armor is called.) But most defiantly... the NF characters got the shaft when it came to armor options.

This kind of think is probably my only complaint with the way ArenaNet released each GW campaign.
To make them feel truley integrated I would of liked to see some back updating.
I wish all the previous campaigns would of recieved the following things.
-Equipment drops for all the new classes
-Quests that give class releated rewards tweaked to include the new classes.
-Skills from the new campaign spread accross the old campaigns also. ( maybe skill created for the new classes that can only be captured or trained in one of the old campaigns.
This lack of adding to the old games makes each new campaign feel line a sudo followup, not a true expansion to the game.
Other than that I love everything else about how guild wars works.
I was also always disapointed the prophecies never got an exclusive class. Would of been cool if say, Rangers and Mesmers where considered prophecies only classes.

Whne they added new stuff, they should have added it also the the old campaigns.
They didn't, and we have a annoying situation here. You make an Elementalist in Prophecies, you get stuff everywhere.
You make a Dervish in Nightfall, you won't gt almost anything in the previous ones.
As always say: RETROACTIVITY IS ALWAYS GOOD.

Here's the thing - Anet has clearly stated that Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall are all separate games, not expansions. They wanted somebody to just buy Nightfall and be able to play instead of having to get Prophecies plus an expansion. The only expansion game is Eye of the North.
They've already made concessions and allowed end game greens for all games in each game. IMO it kinda goes against the lore of the game to have a guy in House zu Heltzer make armor for a class that isn't native to the area - why would he have practiced making that armor?
All that said, I'm on your side. In good news, they've already said GW2 will have expansions instead of new campaigns, so all these issues should be solved in 2050 or whenever it comes out.

Anton is native from Tyria.
Razah is native from the Anguish (core-nightfall)
Many golems are Dervishes.
Armors are customized, crafters don't knwo what are they going to do until they meet you.
Skill traders will sell you only skills for your primary and secondary, so you don't know if they have skills for Ritualist, Assassin, Paragon or Dervish until you talk to them as Ritualist, Assassin, Paragon or Dervish.
It could be done, they just didn't.
I hope you are sure about GW2.
Expansions that affect the whole content are always better than separate campaigns that change game mechanics for single regions.

You have a good point (and I know you agreed with me). But they still did not stay very true to the idea of true standalone games. If they where truely stand alone then nightfall would not of had content exclusivley for Assasins and Ritualists. Also would of helped the "standalone" feel if prophecies had its own unique classes, but thats another topic.
Either way these issues are pretty minor for me.

I should take back what I said about GW2 being expansions - I just did a little more searching and it has been stated that expansions are more likely than standalone games, but a final decision has yet to be made. So my bad on that one. I think it's clear which way I would vote.
As for things like Anton being Tyrian, sins and rits having armors in Nightfall, etc., yeah, I know it also doesn't make much sense (at least there were sin and rit bosses in Nightfall). Anton especially, since it's been stated multiple times that Mhenlo is the only non-Canthan to ever study at Shing Jea. Trust me, I'm not a lore expert, it's just how I always justified it.
I guess the point I'm trying to make (very poorly might I add) is that they've already gone against what they initially said about standalone games, so they might as well just go ahead and make Marhan's Grotto armor for paragons while they're at it.

Greens added to faction endgame either used existing model (shield) or used model that was going to be in game anyway (spear and scythe).
It was essentially free.
New armor added to factions would prompt mean four sets times 4 for pieces, some debugging to for compatibility with other sets and items, etc etc ...
Were talking quite a lot of resources.
If you want new armor sets for factions, make them: load textmod and do kurzick/luxon-like paintjobs on some paragon and dervish armorsets. Send those textures to regina or something and ask for theese reskins to be made official.

Well, me being a para main, would of course always be in favour of new armory to spend a lot of money on... but: "It's not going to happen" is a phrase we will most likely hear before they they consider making more sets anyway... Your point is valid, para's and derv's have the poorest choice of armor selection, but with EOTN at least para's and derv's did not get the amount of reskins the other classes got (Reskin is not new armor, it's just not )
I would donate an arm, heck maybe even a leg for a few new sets, but with GW2 coming shortly, I am afraid the only addition we are going to see in the future will be the newest tonic from the zchest... (and even those will be reused after the 12th has come out..)
