The way we need to look at asking for more events is looking at older ones they no longer run.
There are 3 months that have no events and at least 4 events I can think of that are no longer being used.
Those events are:
GG Farewell
Day of the Tengu
Guild Wars Nightfall PvP Preview Event
Visit Eye of the North for the Holidays (they may rerun this one will not know until December)
Now we can ask for new holidays which will create more work and that may cause them to say no, but if we take it from a perspective to where it is something that they already have the work done for and could implement it easily then they might go for it.
Personally I'd like to see a Balthazar's day event call it Battlefest weekend or The Balthazar Celebration or what ever and reuse the GW Nightfall PvP event.

I'd also like to see a EotN event and they could spice up the Visit the Eye Event but move it to one of the months that doesn't have something going on or leave it where it is.
That leaves the Tengu celebration for one of the unused months. I admit it needs some work like opening up the boardwalk and traders, but it is there and could be reused. No need for a new hat, but keep the quest and give tokens that can be traded or even festival tickets so people can play the board walk games.
If these suggestions were carried out there would be no reason not to have an Event every month. Besides Anet having to take the time to do so, which may not be possible because of the work they are doing for GW2 right now. However asking for events that have already been written would be much more easily done than asking for all new ones to be written.
