Reading discussions of the impending HARD MODE I thought up a new title in a similar vein: VOW OF POVERTY
With the ranks being issued based on number of missions/quests completed while still wearing your Noobie Armor and Wielding your original issue Noobie Weapon. If you ever change armor or weapon, title track goes away.
To make it even more fun you could also make the title void if the person establishes a "bank" account, or has more than some small number of gold pieces in their inventory. (based on the mission rewards they would receive.)
Anyone who could complete a game while keeping this title track alive AND the Survivor track alive would be a candidate for title of "Best Player Ever".

Experience title is not just for bots. And bots/gold farmers really don't care about titles, they care about money. I personally would like an xp title. getting a little tired of all the bs about it being for bots.
13,773,623xp and counting.
My ranger is hardly a bot, she's KOABD and another title would make me happy. She has also has every skill in the game unlocked on her so a title for that would be nice too. Skill hunter r5 is nice, but a title for all skills would be sweet too, and a possible way to show xp since it requires quite a lot. O_O

I'm sure some people will not think, and reply that there are 1134 skills not 995, but she's a tyrian char so she had loads of quests to unlock skills. And I included the /age for the people who would see my xp and scream, "No Life!"

i saw something in this quote that caught my eye. "my ranger is harldy a bot, she's KOABD and another..............."
these titles that you are noting at are so easy to get. people like cg two a wouldn't beable to brag about acheiving KOABD, heck, with these titles 4/5 people would be running around town with KOABD, and they will only be lvl 15! so what, almost everybody has 60% of a map explored, and thats not something to complain about, those people have either not played a lot on their characters, or they just dont want to hunt for titles. i remember about 6 months ago i got 60% of tyria explored, and i will be completely honest with you guys i was so proud of walking around with a title under my name.
with these new titles, a toon walking around with "I'm very important" will be very common.

Here's my idea for an experience title:
Coming of Age - Virtual Level 100 - 1,337,600 xp
Experienced - Virtual Level 250 - 3,587,600 xp
Well Experienced - 10,000,000 xp
Elite Veteran - Virtual Level 1,337 - 19,892,600 xp

A title for unlocking non-elite skills is the only valid title here.
Likewise, a "Discovery" title would be more appropriate.
Discovery would be account based, and gain points for unlocking skills, elite skills, item upgrades, heroes, etc. Anytime that window pops up that says _____ unlocked! You'd get points.
In addition, another valid title would be "Good Natured" - obtained by doing quests (repeatable ones do not count, or if they do, they count for very little). There are hundreds, possibly over a thousand, quests to do - and doing ALL of them, and FINDING *ALL* of them, takes a long time. Having some sort of reward for being a dedicated quester would be appropriate.

/signed for UAX title
Suggestions for UAX title
Make it campaign-based, so you get a maxed title per campaign.
Make it that you need to unlock all skills for all professions, which is not trivial to do.
Make it account-based, so you can unlock skills with different characters if you want.
Do not include PvE-specific skills, so that the title can be achieved in PvP.
Include elite skills in the count.

Casual Player - 100 hours
Fodder - 1,000 deaths
Obsessive Collector - 500 of one type of monster "trophy"
Massacre Creator - 1 million strong monsters slain
Aggrivating Noob - 100 monsters aggroed
Tailor - Customized or crafted 50 items
Devoted - Spent 100 hours in an explorable area while not inactive
Caregiver - Has has a pet gain 10000 exp and not die
Spawner - Created 1,000 spirits or minions
Orderly - Maintained enchantments while not inactive for a total 100 hours
In The Way - Interrupted 100 skills
Good Posture - Has been in stances for a total of 100 hours
Luxurious - Has used 500 signets successfully
|
All of those titles are bad ideas... Except maybe an exp title and the account based title on gaining UAX, they're all very bad...

Basic rules for titles
Basic rules
I think we should agree on what should make a title in the first place, so here's some rules that should make some sort of a consensus.
1) They should be reasonably hard to get.
2) If counting for KOABD, they should be achievement-based rather than money-based or time-based. We have enough money-based and time-based titles as it is.
3) Some fun titles (such as # of deaths or Leeroy) can be included, if they don't count towards KOABD.
Also, accept that "KOABD" and "I'm very important" will be easier to get as more campaigns come out, but that actually "important" people will have higher levels in that title anyway. So it all works out even in the end.
New titles suggestions
Add a title like KOABD, except that it counts useless bot-titles. For example, titles such as aggroing, dying, hours spend, etc could count towards this title, and do not count towards KOABD. I'd have it like this:
I have no life (5 maxed useless titles)
I dream in 733t-5p33k (10 maxed useless titles)
I EBay my plats (15 maxed useless titles)
I married an Asura (20 maxed useless titles)

As much as I like new titles, I would be very concerned about an exp title track. If you could display your exp to others an unecessary level of discrimination might occur in PvE missions. "LFG for mission. MUST SHOW EXP TITLE." Let me go ahead and add on that my virtual level is approaching 250 for my primary character. Yet if I wanted to work on another character I would be treated as a noob? I just don't think it's a good idea...

Account- vs. char-based titles
I'd favor account-based titles in most cases, because for most titles, it doesn't matter which char you used to complete the title. The following titles fit as account-based, IMHO: cartographer, drunk, lucky, friend of the luxons, ...
Some titles make sense to be character-based, e.g. survivor...
Some are kinda in-between, that is, they could fit either way depending on community preference, e.g. protector, vanquisher, ...
Having more account-based titles would help give recognition to players who spend time developing several characters, or who developed a new character yet have shown some accomplishments.
Discrimination based on titles
Some people already discriminate based on titles, such as rank in PvP. Titles do have meanings. Face it, you'd rather party up with Protectors than with Drunks when attempting the Master's reward. The same with XP - it shows that you played a long time, but not necessarily that you have skills beyond the ability to kill lvl 20-24 monsters.
I'd be more worried about discrimination based on titles that show skill, like Survivor or Protector, than on those that show XP (much less consumption).
PS: congrats on virtual level 250.

I have an idea for a title:
Sore throat:
Use 1000 shouts while in battle
Aching Lungs:
2500 shouts in battle
"Does anyone hear me?"
10000 shouts in battle
"Where did everyone go?"
20000 shouts in battle
"I think I swallowed a fireball"
50000 shouts in battle
"I like yelling commands"
75000 shouts in battle
"Ok, this is too much"
133700 shouts in battle
hope you like it =P
now more lvls =P

id like to have a title that says you have completed everything in a campaign: 100% map, all bonus in HM, all vanquisher and all elite skills.
after that, you get a tyrian, canthan or elonian pver. when you have all of these 3, you get legendary pver. or sorta.
