Can we have an official statment on this.
If it is an AMERICAN FORUM I will petition ANET to remove the "Elit Fansite" status.

I'm not entirely sure they have computers there.
In fact, sometimes I wonder if some of them have discovered fire yet...

Apparently it's American common sense this time. If you look up the IP in ARIN it's owned by Rackspace which is based out of California. More importantly, the board is in English, is dominated by English speakers, and has always been that way.
The de facto board language is English, and if people can't make themselves understood in that language, too bad. Until some other language dominates, it's just common sense that the communication should be done in English and that it's the typers responsibility to meet that standard.
Though I won't disagree that mocking people who at least make an honest attempt at that is pretty crummy. I prefer to stick to mocking the bozos who insist on typing things like they're texting on a cellphone.

I love making these sort of comments. They get people so riled up!
English is spoken predominantly here, and Phoenix has on occassion demonstrated an ability to communicate in English, I'd hope he keeps it up if he wishes to argue.

Its not just de facto. The de juri board language is English.
It's right in the forum rules to keep posts in English. This is done so moderators can mointer the boards (ie, if somebody cusses you out and harasses you severely in... Czcheoslavakian, the moderators aren't going to know to delete those posts and ban the guy because they can't read it).

I suppose the arguments boil down to this for me.
PvP gets the emote, PvE gets the armor. It's a good balance

ok, aside from the recent americanism - and really, shouldn't we be pushing English??? not American? sorry, one is a language, other is a bastardisation. of course, so long as we're not using "leetspeak" and the other blatant perversions of the language (kthxbai - anyone???) it should be all good - for someone who ISN'T fluent in english to even TRY deserves respect in my book.
but the whole rest of the thread has fallen into PvP vs. PvE idiocy. hell, 2/3 of the posts can be summed up as follows.
(the below are blatant stereotypes, and don't reflect MY opinions)
PvPer: PvE is talentless grinding noobishness... because we're the all-powerful-talented-ubergodz of gaming, we deserve all the PvE-only items just for existing.
PvEer: PvP is all about E-peen, elitism, and sexist jokes between acne ridden basement dwellers! screw-em, and make them PLAY THE GAME!!!
-------------------
now, i've stated before, that i do spend a great deal of time split between PvE and PvP (mostly TA/GvG and AB). PvP only toons, IMHO, don't deserve ANY of the special stuff - but that's because i'm one of a dying type - ALL my PvP chars (cept the monk) started life as a PvE char. worked through the game, unlocked anything i thought i'd need, and i go back for stuff i want.
now, were all folks to PvP in that way, the issue would never come up. andfor why i don't believe that a PvP only character deserves anything from the PvE goodies rack? you get an instant lvl 20 char, with access to all the skills (no tossing around a few hundred K to get all the skills)and quick and easy access to every mod in the game. and the price you pay for this convienience??? you're boring looking. sorry, but it's true!
now, to all of the PvE folks - chaos gloves are going to come to PvP only chars - it's just a matter of time, and you are NOT going to get anything to trade for them - no emote's for KoaBD, no new special skins - nothing.
do like i do, suck it up, move on and accept that the bragging value of another set of hard to get stuff is GONE.

lol, i was referring specifically to language, but hey, it's all good.
though, for what it's worth, there's English (the language) and American (the bastardised version of the english language)
in most, hell, many respects, canada and america are similar - but we still hold true to the King's English (Queen's English, if you prefer) and not the fun farce that is American English.
i will grant, language is one of the very few things i get discriminatory about - nobody using "leetspeak" or other abuses of the language (intentional abuses, that is) are welcome in my guild, or the alliance - they get a quick invitation to the world.
and hey, we're all just bastards around here, eh?
peace!

*edit - as a quick test, pronounce the letter Z, or spell a few words. Colour, neighbour, behaviour, centre, etc, ad nauseum. minor differences, i grant you, but the sum of the differences makes for a completely different reading experience....

Don't get me wrong, even though I'm American, I recognize the general superiority of the English, without whom, I would not exist. I prefer to spell words like "colour, armour, theatre" and others, because I feel that is the way the word was meant to be spelled. But, one thing I just couldn't grasp is the whole "Z = Zed" thing. I realize that there are letters that make no sense as to why they are called that (W = Double U anyone?). But most letters in the English language are said mostly the way they are used in words (i.e. D = Dee, such as debate) but, the letter Zed makes no sense to me, at all.
Sorry for off-topic, but that's just my 2 quid.

the hole RP point system is mega fail anet says its a way to reward people in the game but yet you cant keep the stuff you get and you can get them for free from guessing. they should have just made it an unlocking system so if you get armor or that sort of shit in pve then you can ware it on a pvp ch. i for one only have one slot open for pvp so i remake that ch all the time.

Similar to the way that there is French (which is a language, also a salad dressing) and then there is Quebecois (which for the most part is French, but is really a bastardised version of the french language), not to mention there is Cajun (which could be really good food, but is another version of the french language).
Edit: Not stating that all of Canada speaks French, pretty sure it is just that one province and I understand that the majority of the country speaks English.
No, I am not even going to try to do this with Spanish since Spainiards, Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, and whatever other central american country all have different dialects (fancy term for bastardised version of language).
Chinese is the same way.
Something about PvPers and PvEers all whining too much for something close to on topic.

PvE is also about getting good armor so if PvP characters are allowed to wear glasses , chaos gloves, etc... then that's taking a factor of PvE away and it makes the speciallity of those PvE only armor pieces go down and they wouldn't be somehting that everyone wants anymore. Besides, PvP isn't about the skins....

I couldn't be bothered reading the whole thread so if this has already been suggested then my bad.
Why not let PvP characters equip already customized weapons and armour?
This would work like an already customized weapon being able to be equipped by a hero.
Pretty much this would let me use the 400k I have lying around in storage to buy 15k armour on my PvE Warrior and be able to use it on my PvP Warrior, that way I don't have to get UAX on my PvE Toons.
This could potentially create a 'WTS 15k Armour' problem, but perhaps A-Net could make it account based or something. (your PvP char. can only equip a customized item that has been customized by another char. on your account)

If I understand you correctly, you just said "Why not get rid of Reward Points?" If we can unlock armours like skills, what's the purpose of RP's?
