My dear Chocobo1, I never stated that I'm against the actual implantation of this suggestion. I'm just trying to figure out what the problem exactly is, in a somewhat odd and offensive way.
I can honestly say I have never left a Lock Pick, or any other white valued drop, unless I decided I wanted too, which I actually did once for the sake of fun. Scanning the battlefield doesn't take minutes, it's something you do in the blink of an eye. That's what I do anyway. But then again, I might be gifted with the power of super sight. *Does X-ray vision on Chocobo1's clothes.*

(Just funny fact: Game, in fact, does put your drop directly in your inventory if they are on ground at end of missions/dungeons/etc...)
Look, this is all about polishing game experience. Making GUI be helpfull more than indifferent.
Asides that, lockpick in fact does represent Gold or at least Purple item. Purple color would do just fine in distinguishing it from average crap, but who cares really.

Well I'd have to agree with it being a merchant item, it's not really needing a colour change. I've never had any problem picking out a lockpick from a group of whites, since it takes merely a second to read.
However, if they did go ahead with it, why gold? Blue would be a far more accurate colour for it, if the change were to ever take place.

Don't bother talking about arguments when you're not providing any yourself.

Well fine, make them blue then. Personally I don't really care what color they are, but it just seems like an unnecessary change to the game.

Enon: Did the picture not load for you or are you purposely missing that on purpose and claiming I don't have an argument?
Operative 14: Changing the drop colours are unnecessary. Adding PvP weapon model rewards are unnecessary. Adding MOX as a hero was unnecessary. Changing the icons between Minor, Major, and Superior runes were unnecessary. So many things were and have been done to Guild Wars that were totally unnecessary, but they're still done anyway to add further enjoyment. Yet, the people who keep dismissing potentially great ideas are the same people who keep complaining that Guild Wars doesn't try to become better.
I'm fairly certain that if Lockpicks were to change to a different colour drop, the /notsigners would not wish to go back to white.

I love it when OPs think people are "trolling" because they disagree with them.
disagreeing =/= trolling

Oh, wait, you meant the name color?
Ah... you may miss them because you leave around a lot of white stuff...
A good punishment losing lockpicks is. You must pick everything and sell everything to merchants, otherwise stuff would end up littering all Tyria.
So no, never, ever. They are neither magic nor rare items so their names must be white.

whatever colour, don't change it to green,
reason: characters name are in green, when something drops its written in green, when you (alt/ctrl) forget which one, to look for miss drops white is still pretty visible, if the hench are everywhere, green makes it confusing.

I wouldn't call posting a picture without any explanation an argument.
I'm assuming you mean Merchants also sell blue colored? They do indeed. But then again, you can also buy gold colored items at other traders...
You lot should try reading the drop's name instead of only looking at the color...

Heh, I honestly don't know what you're talking about, when did I accuse someone of trolling ?

I suggested to make them gold, but blue would be just fine, as long as they showed up with that color in the chat log, like Pocketmancer said. Anet can change it to blue, purple, gold, green, as long as I can notice them easily when they drop.

EXACTLY ! Stop assuming we're all idiots for not picking up everything that drops, and look at the idea as a small improvement that would simply make it easier for each single one of us.
I'm pretty sure you guys did not complain about the title rebalance. What was the purpose of this update, if not to make the game easier ? Many people have maxed SS/LB and the Factions titles without using the books, and yet they added a huge number of ways to acquire points with more ease. That doesn't mean people using the books are dumbasses.

I nearly missed a lockpick today if it wasn't for someone pm'ing me. After playing for long hours, I just forget to look for the drops sometimes. In that case, make it pink so it looks cuter and easier to see.

Hah, I can relate to this. Ever opened an endgame chest in Urgoz or Deep in HM with 12 people at the same time? 12 green names + an x amount of green weapons on your screen made me nearly forget about picking up my Kanaxais Axe. Luckily for me, one of my team-members pointed me to the fact it was still lying at my feet.
So...as a suggestion for not forgetting to pick up your lockpicks, bring some mates. Because if you really want the color of those picks changed, the color of those Green weapons are in need of a change too (and some of them are waaay more valuable than a single pick).
