There's really no constructive reason why this would be a bad idea, it doesn't affect anything about the HoM. But I don't see why it should be implemented. That said, I wouldn't mind if this was implemented, but I could care less if it wasn't.

It's just something that they could hang, not on a monument.

Is there suddenly something wrong with making something look better? The only reasonable arguement would be if it gave some sort of bonus, which isn't part of the suggestion.
Since you didn't even go for that one, all that's left is the silly "I don't want other people to have better looking stuff than me." If you think people shouldn't get better looking stuff from paying money, wake up and smell the golds.
P.S. Being in a guild is an achievement.

Seems to be some kind of misunderstanding as I never said

All I said is that, basically, I don't see a need for it. That's called "expressing my opinion". I didn't attack anyone in my post and I see no reason to be attacked by someone who doesn't agree with me. Post your thoughts and move on.

the guilds stay on the background of this game and it's quite weird since having a guild is as normal as wearing an armor in this game
we need to bring the guilds more in sight
displaying a large cape of your guild in your HoM would be a first step

People can be devoted to the guild at a personal level. Like being the leader, and amking everything only with your other 11 members.

Sounds good to me! And if someone were to change guilds, then the cape would change then as well, same if the leader paid 2k to change the cape's appearance. /signed

This would be a cool idea, would be nice if it maybe hung from the roof right in the center and made it large. Make it a central point to your HoM.

As the game has evolved, the reliance upon other players has diminished, but the point of an online multiplayer game is, in some part, to interact and form friendships with others and guilds often form the basis for such. To recognize and allow players to have a memorial to their friendships is sensible. Additionally, the lore aspect is enhanced since the GW2 chars are supposed to be descended from GW1 chars.
and yay for unintentional thread necromancy.
in summary, lore, guild wars being named guild wars, and remembering good times are good reasons for the implementation of this idea.

Do this too, there are blank banners, they can be changed to fit the guild cape of the guild that owns the hall.

It simply changes with it. The background of the guild window can change with the guild cape, just add this to the list of what changes.

No need to add insult to injury by forcing their crappy Guild cape into the HoM too.

But guilds are one of the points in the game really. And if people hate their guild cape, just have the cape changed (or guilds in your scenario). As for those who are in a guild, just have it like the Guild Hall banners - a blank gray.

I didn't notice anything, anywhere about it giving any sort of bonus. It's aesthetic, nothing else.

The HoM is for achievements because said achievements give rewards in GW2, that is how the comment relates. Guilds are, as said, a main part of Guild Wars, and as such it deserves some recognition. Along with that, the HoM is meant as, in a lore sense, a "home for your ancestor's belongings" in GW2. As such, noting what guild your ancestor was in would fit very well with the HoM.
Also, you are not the only person who disagrees.

Can you tell me how often you go to your HoM? I doubt you go there very often that seeing a cape would bug you. And while it is "personal" it is meant as a record of your account's achievements/things that would be known in a lore sense, and a guild would be included in what your character has done and whatnot in a lore sense.
There is absolutely no real argument about not adding this, it falls under the purpose of the achievements in a lore sense, it cannot hurt anyone (honestly, if you hate your own cape so much, have it changed or leave your guild), and it wouldn't take too long to add in. Neither would be adding them to a more important area - guild halls.

To those who object this idea, the concept is merely cosmetic. You did say it's personalized for the character, so how much can displaying your guilds cape hinder that? I see no other reasons why it shouldn't, and for reasons that the ones who object this previously said, it's all personalized. So what's wrong with a little spice and flavor to it if it's yours?

there are other things i would like to see changed in the game this isn't one of them. the only way i think this would be cool is if all the guilds you were in showed up as well. and it had the guilds full name along with tag (unchanged by bans to hehehe so many good guild names destroyed by [ban] ) only guilds that you where in for a month though not guilds you joined for a few days and then quit.
