Ability to edit an existing character
I'd like an option to edit an existing character's appearance; meaning, go back and change its face, hair, hair color, height and skin color.
I wouldn't want anything intricate or complicated to implement it. A simple button in the Character Selection to Edit Appearance would suffice.
I've had my some of my characters 40+ months... I've waited, and waited, and waited for this to come and it hasn't... I think it's about time to add it. Even Lineage II has potions to change your face, hair and hair color after creation.
Not to mention with disguise potions, I hardly see how it could break lore any worse than it already is.
At this point, I've spent nearly 10,000 hours on my characters and completely remaking them, rebuying their armors (most have obsidian...), rebuying their weapons, getting all their skills and titles again just because I've drifted away from liking their lookset is just not acceptable at this point --- not to mention with birthdays and other additions.
Everyone has wanted a barber shop and plastic surgeon since forever... Well, forget that. That's way too complicated. Just spend one lunch hour and give us a button.

I'm inclined to agree with you neato. a edit appearance button on the character select is badly needed. I've grown so tired of looking at my characters same appearance for over 2 1/2 years now, and I can't be fussed to remake some chars because of the amount of hours spent on getting skills/armor/weaps ect. So yeah....i highly doubt that such a option is REALLY so hard /end sarcasm.

the only option that should have been made editable is the hair......the rest you should have to deal with for making such decisions.

Would it be nice?
Yeah.
Do I care enough about it to put it high on my priority list?
Of course not. I'll just remake my character.

Some things you should be able to alter and I recon the more people ask the more its likely to happen if not in GW then GW2.
Character name
I realise changing the actual name of the character might be a problem scam artists would be changing it daily.
But how about being able to change how the name appears to others in the game but the friends/block lists still show it as the same character.
Its the equivalent of being unable to change your birth certificate but being able to tell strangers any name you feel like.
Hair change yep should be able to change that any time you like
Anything else I very much doubt most people bodies dont change that much in a year and you should be able to tell if you got the body size of your character as you wanted it withing a few hours of play.
You didn't go back and start again then so tough.
I would like GW2 to have far more choices of face and body esp when it comes to age.
GW isn't a virtual teen or Boy/Girl band creator so lets have characters looking like real people with a decent age range rather than 18-20

A real person's body may not change, but this is a game and the person behind the character's taste changes. You shouldn't even be trying to make it about realism. Who the f can turn into a ghost, spider, skeletal hound, golem, etc.? Nobody can! It's a game, let it be a game.
People want change. If that's not obvious from the past US Presidency alone, then I don't know what is.
I'm tired of how some of my characters look... I liked them over 3 years ago; not so much now. People change, let the characters change with them. x.x"

ok ok i partially retract due to fallout 3 having the option to change your face and hair.....even tho face change is still kinda sketchy.

What priority list? What else are they going to do? GW is done. I think this is the time for all the crap that was "moved-to-the-12th-of-never" should get done. We've listened to that same crap for nearly 4 years... I think by now it should be somewhere near the top, since it's been mentioned since the very beginning.
I recall capes having a toggle getting the same response, and thank god they made that happen...

Hi... I see that the OP is realatively new, but a quick search would have turned up this awesome thread http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=21525
Hopefully if more of us add our voices to the same thread the sheer number of poeple wanting it will change Anet's mind on this.

I'm not new actually... I've been around since the alpha days.
I did search by the way, and that idea is not in line with mine. If you read the OP you would realize that.
I don't want a stylist that changes hair...
I want a button that changes everything, minus name, which is accessible at character login. Quite different, I assure you.

Nobody just changes into those things, those are special tonics, aka a potion, changes the appearance for a set amount of time. Plastic surgery is out there is no need to change your face in all reality most of the faces are almost identical minus some lipstick and minor scars etc. As for a Hair stylist that seems more logic but as it said there is higher things on teh list of to do's. Such as the title update on the 13th, second part of the HoM update, GW2.
GW1 is far from dead, and they have plans if you pay any attention to the small things like the PAX interview where they mentioned some things that they are hoping to come within the next year. GW2 might not be out till 2010 so we have a lot of time between then and now and Anet still has plans for Guildwars whether you seem to believe it or not.
I know its hard scraping away all the time you put into a toon, money for armor etc. but Ive done it as you say its just a game, a virtual reality so its not like if you delete a toon with FoW armor your gonna go broke in real life gold is easy to make if you know how. So if you dont like the way your toon looks right now, suck it up, grow up, hit the delete button and start fresh.

Okay, the faces aren't even close to identical... I don't know what models you've been looking at...
Mind you, the Warrior I made was not cross-eyed when I made her.
There was a graphic change long ago which added moving mouths to the models which also made the faces look "more detailed." Well, the result is... My Warrior face and Monk face don't look as good as they did when I made them anymore, and I've had to suffer for quite some time with it like this. It was out of my control. I made my choice, and Anet changed the texture. I had no say in the matter.
We should have had the option to change our faces at that point. There is absolutely no way I will ever delete that Warrior. Deleting isn't even an option, especially my Monk... You can't get old black dye anymore.

I should of used big bold letters like you ALMOSTwas the magical workd i used infront of identical looking at the screen I see a change in eyebrows, and eyes face shape is the same you not looking to changer your hair.
Solution 1. Delete remake but fashion show is your game so thats out of the question.
Solution 2. Use a helm to cover your face.
Solution 3. Get a blindfold to cover your cross-eyed warrior not like they are doing much help to her now.
All I see here is a QQ over how your virtual warrior doesn't seem fit for your liking.
Personally I think your better off quitting Guildwars and go play something like My little Pony or something where everything is all cute and fuzzy and you don't have to worry about whether your look good or not.
