Knowing when people add you to their friends list
I think we need a feature that tells you when a person has added you to their friends list. I think itd be a need feature because some people claim that they've been on your friends list forever and since you were they want help with something or money. I think it would be a neat feature.

i dont really know how hard that would be to implement, but i think it would be nice. often times i get those random pms from people i dont know saying i was on their friends list. i dunno why. also itd be nice to have a guild/alliance like color tag for your friends list people.

This is a good idea that I've wished for many times. It seems like the friends list is analogous to an MSN, Steam, or Xfire contact list. That being the case, you should have to accept when people invite you to their friends list so you know who has you on there. I think the friends list just needs more options in general however.

Yeah, this is only one of the many improvements the friend's list needs (custom status please!). Including details on where someone is if you hover over their name (HA, DoA, etc..).

The idea of having to accept for them to see you online is dumb though, because that would totally mess up the whole concept of being able to add someone to trade with them.

To improve on that thought, make it so you have to ok it when someone wants to add you to their friends list.

I would like seeing something like that.
Having an ok for them to add you could also be nice.

A good idea in sardelac? Blasphemy.
But really, great idea. Why hasn't the friend list operated this way since the beginning?
I approve of this message.

Let's expand the friends list first so I can actually add more people, then we'll talk about making GW like MSN.

Although an Ok option may make it tougher to find people who you are trading with in Ventari's and the like, still an excellent idea those random PMs from people you grouped with once get kind of awkward sometimes.

Personally I could probably free up a few spots if I could just see who all is on in my own alliance. Then again I'd like to not have had to delete two full lists of old contacts just for space.

I like the idea of having to approve being added to someone's friend list. Also, the idea of being able to have notes, (shows when you point at name, similar to skills on "belt"), to add why they are on your list, eg: runner, trade partner, etc.

All the idea here are nice, but I think an option to nickname them or put them into different categories to know what those people are for is a nice idea.
