Ah Tombs.... ever so abandoned tombs... since the greens there became so worthless hardly anyone goes there any more. I remember the good ol' barrage days....

This.
That was something, teamplay > solo.
The other thing is that profits were small ;P
Tombs should be revived by end chest and few other things, maybe some redecorations to area, quests... Tombs were fun.

End Chest with some new weapon skins would be great to revive ToPK

A portal in Hells Precipice actually leads to "hell". It leads to the Foundry of Failed Creations in the Domain of Anguish.
Plus, it's been stated a new elite area won't be happening.

I'll bet if A.net added a statue in the HoM for completing it, that might help revive it.

Except that ToPK is far too easy. Hell, a single A/E shadow former can solo clear the whole blasted thing in around a hour or two, and that's solo.
With an actual group you could probably clear the whole thing in hard mode in a matter of 40~45 minutes.
Normal mode you could plow through it in around 30 hero/hench I'm sure.
If they added ToPK to the HoM, They'd need to also add a completion chest, and make it much more difficult... Or hell, just disable PvE-only skills, and change fingers of chaos to effect mesmer/assassin/dervish/rit/paragon.
remove a strike of adrenaline per hit on a para, make dervish's enchantments take 2s to recharge every time they're hit by it, block 50% of assassin's attacks (And add in a ranger foe with choking gas to counter shadow form) and hex mesmers to double initial casting time of spells.
Something like that, to make this "elite" area not as goddamn easy.
(also, making it a smidge longer would be nice too. And add a darkness summoning stone from the end chest) :P

ToPK didn't used to be easy. I'm all for making it viable again.

Then make them harder. More things should be done than just buffing rewards for the Prophecies elite areas. Tombs can be perma sf soloed - was even sf soloable without it being perma. Buffing the rewards will bring just about every sin back there if they are not doing UWSC.
Add in some levels/enemies in Tombs, then buff the rewards. For Sorrow's Furnace, put in EN Stone Summit builds perhaps *or a mix of special SF builds and EN builds* and the bbuff rewards - and make it so that To Sorrow's Furnace/The Final Assault acts like the DoA quests. Every time you want to kill the Iron Forgeman, you must did To Sorrow's Furnace. Adds difficulty there.

Another? I has NONE.
It had two elite areas:
- Fissure of Woe
- Underworld
Their monsters are still tagged as Prophecies creatures, and they still drop Prophecies-style stuff but they became 'core', for all campaigns when they granted access from all those areas.
The Tombs is not an elite area. It's more like Glint's challenge, just attacking instead of defending.
It has no reward chest, no quests to do there, no unique drops from monsters or chests, (just boss green drops)... you just go forward and keep killing until the end.
Sorrow's Furnace is a great place and have good quests, but it's WAAAY far from an elite area. It's simply to easy. Some quests can even be done solo in Hard mode.
The titan quests are just out of it. They are not repeatable and force you to make parties of 4 or 6 in many parts of it.
For Tombs, either:
- Give tombs Challenge status, with a reward chest with the unique drops moved there, so each party member can open it, and a Score NPC that shows the fastest parties with less deaths.
- Give tombs Elite status, with a final reward chest, an unique weapon set (Unifying and completing the Ghostly/Eternal/Chaos weapon set) that drops there from monsters and chests, and a HoM monument.
For the Titan quests:
- Turn the Titan quests into Elite areaa, making them a way to acquire Titan weapons that have prestige status and can be added to the HoM. Making them start by talking to Glint instead traveling there, so all of them can be done in parties of 8, giving the bosses green drops, adding more creatures so it becomes harder, a final Reward chest and a HoM monument for making them.
For Sorrow's Furnace:
- It's fine as it is.

These are a few good ideas.
With two years, supposedly, til the release of GW2, ANYTHING in the line of new content would be nice. These ideas shouldnt be too hard for the Dev team, thats left, to accomplish as one of the quarterly updates I wouldnt think.
/SIGNED for anything to do thats new.

it'll take some work to put these area's up to par with other elite areas. if they aren't, the items will become just as worthless as the current greens are.

reviving tombs would be a nice idea, especially It would take several consets to clear them out. aNet should think about it...would increase Oe Million Edition sale if they added an End Chest there and enchanced the whole area.

Sorrow's Furnace needs an end chest. Badly. Like everything else in Prophecies (like the Titan quests), the rewards are a joke (woo, experience, like I don't have enough of that...)

Agree on that how much experience you get again for all sorrows quests like 60k? and those titan quests like 50k each

I'd be happy to see a chest at the end that drops 2 items per person (1 green, 1 random - gold, another green, lockpick, etc.) + 1 rare material (ecto, gem, etc.).
Doubt they'd make the end chest THAT good, but they definitely need to give it a monument at the HoM.
