Personally, I haven't talked to anyone in-game as of yet that actually enjoys the constant fireworks (of course, that isn't exactly all encompassing). Fireworks are fine when it's like Wintersday or Canthan New Year, but every single day constantly is just messed up and we shouldn't have to just "deal with it."

I tend to think you are just very bitter and tend to complain about everything as if "dealing with it" would give you cancer. Welcome to a multiplayer game, where not everything is designed for you.

I agree with Empress on this. Fireworks have become far too common. They are nice to mark a special event, like GW's Birthday or New Years Eve. Now every day is New Year's and that doesn't leave anything extraordinary for the holidays. It's like your neighbor leaving his christmas lights up and lit in July. Time to take them down. Keep the special things special by not having them all the time.

If this is implemented, Then I want an option to not see other players.
If i had 5g for every naked warrior I saw dancing and running around I'd have so many R8 Crysta line perfect swords.

If I spent hours and hours hanging around in towns it could no doubt get a little annoying, Since I spend most of my time playing the game its no bother to me.
That said fireworks 24/7 is a little silly

Why I say, to see the lights and decor, of a holiday, that my friends is one thing, but to see the lights and hear the sounds, of a non-holiday, of a non-party, that is another thing. For we all see within our heads lights, and we all hear within our minds sounds. But non can be more annoying than that of the works of fire. For fire brings chaos, but chaos defines life. However, chaos also brings about death. So in effect, the works of fire, these bees and blue sparkles, bring about death. Not of the body, nor the virtual character, but of the mind and the eyes and ears. Of the senses and of the perception. Of the personality and the self.
Do not let the works of fire reign free! For they will enslave us all! They will turn us into living zombies! Fight back! Reduce the fiery works! Repent! For you have heard the prophecy!

I agree, get rid of the fireworks. I suggest just making the disco balls create disco balls, rather then filling the district with annoying bangs and flashy colors.
OR, create a mute button for the firworks.
OR, make the disco balls only useable in the three major cities.
It's so annoying walking into any district and having them go off. I also think the rest of you should stop digging into empress for having an opinion about it.

Solution to fireworks: Limit to one time use per hour in the outpost (not by player)
This way, those who want to send out firework goodies can town hop, but those who don't like them can have, what is it 50 minutes, of no-firework times.

One point:
People using fireworks probably just want teh party points, drop fireworks just as they pass outposts and are not activelly trying to piss you off.
Its not like someone spams /sit emote in tonic for lulz or anything.

I used a disco ball and some random guy thanked me for the fireworks. If they are lagging your computer, you need new hardware. If you just don't like them, lighten up.

Laptop.
Now go away.
You know that people like you were saying exact same things before they muted Yeti sounds in towns? All Tonic sounds, actually.
"Turn down the volume, go to other district, I'm too stupid to give a rational argument, change the town".

Actually the yeti sounds are annoying. The fireworks are a mild drone in comparison. But that's not what the thread is about. Also, laptops are not for gaming. But if you did want to use one for GW, any crappy one you bought at best buy in the past 4 years that cost more than $500 should run everything fine. Maybe not the anti-aliasing (depending on how pisspoor the embedded video card is), but otherwise it should run smoothly.

We shouldn't have to just "lighten up" about something completely unnecessary to begin with.

My laptop is 4 years old, and every time a firework explodes, it stutters like hell. Especially if it explodes in front of the camera.
You can't honestly tell people that they must pay $500 to make the fireworks NOT hang the PC.
An option for turning off fireworks and so on would be good, and if they have time to waste on Zaishen Menagerie, why not on something useful?
