Is it just me? Or do these two systems get abused far too often?

I keep getting reported and hexed with dishonor by so many lame, malicious adolescent children via the /report function even when I fight alongside them. I resign.. then I see 'You've been declared leecher for blah blah blah...'

I mean, wasn't AB the ORIGINAL reason for 'leeching' being added to the list of reportable offenses? Leeching also is the most commonly direct way to force dishonor on any PvPer if one hates him/her. I get reported so much that I just hop between two accounts to try and let the 'hexed' account cool off. My accounts sometimes get so heated up with abuse that I can't even game for 30 minutes before I get all my accounts hexed up! That's BAD!

And the only reason I EVER get temp-banned from the game is because of 'Verbal Abuse'? C'mon FFS RA is SO F***ING FRUSTRATING IT MAKES ME WANNA SMASH MY COMPUTER IN SOMETIMES!!!! GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!! Qq

Is there ANYONE out there that can even REMOTELY empathize with me on this? Or am I the only one who feels this way?

I foresee alot of snide remarks telling me to get a life, see a shrink, go TA, any BUT a voucher for 'fixing these things'... But, I could be proven wrong.. *shrugs*

What say You the GW Community? Change these two systems? Or Leave them be and allow the anguish to continue on more & more?

And if this thread has been created before, great! Let this thread be a most up-to-date Reassessment of these two issues, consulting the Community on the matter. Try not to flame on anyone. just so u know this has been asked to regina quiet a few times on her talk page and she said they are looking into it..also u are not helping yoursef getting dishonored when u /resign cause that also gives you points for dishonor hex

THE ONLY problem with the report system is that if someone is leeching and you report them, unless 1/3 of your team also reports them you get dishonor points.

They need to fix it such that if whoever got reported doesnt send through a command to the game within say 30 seconds they get FULL dishonorable, and there shouldnt be dishonored for reporting a leecher if your team doesnt report also, coz then it results in noone reporting because they dont want the dishonor.

About dishonorable from the official wiki: "Hex Spell. You are considered Dishonorable because teammates repeatedly reported you for leeching, or because you repeatedly abandoned your team in Random Arenas, Alliance Battles, or Competitive Missions. You may not participate in PvP until this effect expires."

Try NOT resigning and see how that works for ya.

(But yeah, there are parts of the system that need tweaked.)

I'm pretty much for removing the entire system. Power in the hands of 12-14 year old kids never really works. But yeah, this topic is way too common so I think this will get closed.

Also, I don't mind if people /resign but if you /resign then sit afk, or just follow around uselessly/suicide then you probably deserve to be reported. And eh, maybe just don't resign? It's better to wait until your entire team has agreed to do it rather than just being the one sore loser that does it.

I don't think /resign adds to the dishonor. I also give up ONLY after having the facts, not beforehand. This means that I already predicted what the opposition's running..

(i.e.: LC Necro, E/Me Distortionist, WoH/PnH Monk etc..)

versus my team

(i.e.: R/E Firestorm Ranger, W/Mo Griever/NewPlayer, Ele's using 2+ second cast time spells, NO MONK, etc..)

I don't give up simply because I 'think' we're going to lose.. It's because I 'know' it (based on already-gained experiences with the individual or group)!

the thing you should do

ask ppl to resign..
if they are not willing to, press auto run. so you die imediatelly

get ppl annoyed, making them use "bad language". but make sure your language stays somewhat polite. then just use /report system on them.

example. when i monk RA and i get a single profession noob R, i simply say "sorry, i don't heal single profession scrubs". i ragequit (if i haven't ragequitted before, otherwise dishonour noob system) or i just run straight in after 20 sec.
After my team died, they most likely whisp me with "you f*cking noob monk go back to pve, motherf*cker, blabla" /report
too bad anet doesn't notifie you with "blabla player has been banned" i would laugh my ass of if that happened

and oye to get less frustrations, sync.. i got my glad 3 by monking and got a lot of frustrations with noobs. it was only when i was halfway to glad 3 someone told me about syncing

and AB = pve. ppl there are just plains noobs.(no offence, but don't think you have any skill if you are r12 luxon/kurzick) only tactics they know is "cap clockwise" or "attack everything you see" , but they don't know that "U" gives you mini map (where you can so easily predict what shrines opposite team is after) or don't know what colour they belong to.

-now i can expect some comments from ppl who spend most of their time in AB.
for you guys another based on experience example.

TA: glad 3+ forming we needed necro, but no friends online blabla.. so we pug for 20 min but no necro. suddenly we see r12 kurzick necro in TA with some fail SS build.. after 5-10 of QQ'ing we decide to give him a change. we give him build
LC, rip enchantment, FF,...

so, first team we are about to face. 1 mesmer(VoR), 1 ranger(poison, magebane), 1 d/p(blind bot with dust aura), 1 monk

i was blind, so i ping adn tell necro to FF. necro has no idea their mesmer can divert his foul feast and pays no attention to the mesmer (why would he? in AB you just press buttons and target NPC who don't know what they are doing) so his FF gets diverted. GG, diversion has 2 sec. cast you should pay attention to the mesmer and don't cast FF while his diversion is recharged or he is casting it lmao. so he couldn't draw blind. hmm problem.
now the dervish has EBON DUST aura which is AN ENCHANT, so remove that enchant with rip and remove the blind.. but by the time i explained him that. we already fell..

Hey look, its the THIRD post made by the same user complaining about the same thing.

I have never been banned. I have never gotten in trouble with the /report system, as anybody who has ever reported me was abusing the report system. I have never gotten dishonor, except for once when the server was disconnecting me repeatedly.

Maybe you should just stop breaking the rules and take responsibility for your own actions. You have repeatedly complained about dishonor punishing the very behavior it was meant to punish.

I get reported in PvP simply because personally do not like me or my guild. Normally nothing comes of this. However lately several guild members have been banned (confirmed by talking to support, who will gladly explain reason for temp bans) for language used in guild chat despite being reported during pvp supposedly for something in local chat. What happened was support checked the local chat logs, didn't find anything, proceeded to further check guild chat logs and issued bans anyway.

Moral: if you are reported enough times, even if they are not legitimate, support will find a reason to issue a ban.

And OP, before you PM me regarding this: I don't care about dishonor either way. I've never been banned, probably never been reported. If I was, I'd just send in a support ticket and get the problem taken care of. I'm not trying to keep this away from ANet because, again, I don't care. Not that anything anyone says here matters anyway, but ANet already knows how a large number of people in the community feel about this system anyway. Another thread, much less one that doesn't even follow the guidelines of this forum, isn't going to help.
