Just something small that should be added
OK there is one thing that is slightly bugging me while i play.
Why is there no /time function.
This would be good to know what the time is whilst you play so that you know when you have to that one important thing or when you have to leave.
It would even be helpful with Nicholas so you can countdown till he moves.
This would be really helpful for peaple who play the game on Fullscreen.
Just an idea,
Flame away lol

You win thread, /time isn't needed. With all the time zones it would be annoying to add.

/time isnt needed, but if it were to be added, a system working in a way similiar to this would be best:
/GMT = GMT time
/PST = PST time
That way you could see the times of other areas aswell, which could be usefull for working out the time for guild events - but then thats what google search "Time zone converter" is for.

I guess that could be useful, as well as something to tell you how long you've got before an ingame event starts/ends. But don't see it coming in, cause of most of what masmar mentioned. Just get a watch and google time zone converters like subarucar said if you need to.

For Festivals and such when they have things that start at xx:xx, it would be very useful to know what time it is as far as Arenanets concerned. That being the case, I'd suggest that when you type in /time, you get a message something along the lines of:
Local: 11:14 pm, Tyrian: 10:14 pm
I happen to be one hour ahead of PST now. And it wouldn't be that hard to program, they already have a clock function in the game for the festivals and when things are supposed to do things. And for the other time zones, just add x number of hours to the time.

Don't really care about it, but I suppose it'd be useful for events. /signed IF it's not too much work.

I guess using UTC or Zulu time could be useful for players in differing time zones meeting up, just call it something appropriate for the game.
Countdowns during festivals are a lesser evil than people spamming the chat asking when something or another is due to happen.

Now if only he acctually moved at the same time every week :P
But no for events I could see it being useful I saw someone mention Zulu time I'd prefer like Tyrian Time which is basically PST (or whereever the server is located maybe base it on the location of international districts but I have no clue where they're at). Be useful for events they could start listing the time in Tyrian Time and make it easier to have a standard time to go by for international guilds.

Let's see... I have a clock on my screen, a clock on my cell phone, my wristwatch, on the wall to the right of my desk, on my DVD player under the television, in the kitchen on the microwave, and on the stove, and on the wall near the dining table...
Oh, and I even have a Sharpie permanent marker that I can use to circle next Monday on my calendar so I know when Nicholas is going to move (in case I get amnesia and forget that he moves on Mondays).
Thank you for suggesting that the programmers devote their limited resources to something that none of us need. Brilliant!

Suggested numerous times, usually related to the start times with events. The general consensus is that it would be difficult to do, since people can't seem to calculate their own time in relation to GMT and setting up timezones would be...well...difficult as far as the programming goes.
Since this has been suggested before, there's no need for another thread on the matter. Closed.
