Armor design request
I would really like to see more sedate armor, and for the love of Dwayna stop adding horns to everything. I'd love something like Vigo wore, for rangers. After all "Strider" was one of them rangers..

LOL.... do you actually expect they will be adding new armor to the game at this point? Or changing the current armor already in the game? Except for the non core classes, there are a LOT of options for armor, and not all of them are what you describe as bad. Find one you like best (even if you don't like it) and make do. Nothing will change 4 years into the game.... if anything, they need to add more armor for Sin, Rit, Derv, and Para.

Think how much of a treat new armor would be for an update. I can guarantee there would be a lack of all the usual complaining. But anyway...
While we're on the subject. I'm all for throttling back armor designs. Not that it will make the least bit of difference.

/signed for this. I'm tired of so many elite armors making you look like a porcupine. "How do we make it elite?" "Put more pointies on it!!!"
edit: that Aragon pic makes him look like The Undertaker.

I would have to agree that I am kind of not happy with spikes on everything.
That's why I go after armors that look "clean".

Okay you got me.. I have a champion (warrior) on LOTRO, and I miss his armor and cloak.

i'm not a direktx programmer, so i'm not sure about how easy scaling would be. but allow armors to be customizable the way our characters are, with hair, face, etc, applied to spikes or plates etc. it would just be a scaling issue, nothng much to re-render or create from scratch.

I've never had a problem with any overly spiky armors. Some look a bit out of place but I've just accepted it as an armor I don't like.

Same here, but those seem to dominate most of the selection, I would like to have more of a selection with what Enchanted Warrior is talking about.

Enchanted Warrior seems to be talking about Ranger armor. There are very few armors for Ranger that are 'spikey'. Assassin seems to be the most 'spikey' oriented, and even that has a lot of options that aren't.
Some people like the 'spikey' armor. Since there are options that are not 'spikey', I'm not sure why this is a problem. Perhaps I'm a pervert and want more armor that looks like it can from Penthouse.... so should they make some more armor like the Female Kurzick Warrior with a thong? Why can't there be nipple piercings on the make (and female) Paragons? They already have nipple armor, so why not just pierce them?
Personal taste is not what Anet was striving for. They don't try to please EVERYONE, they try to please most of the people.
I'd love more armor, but I also know there aren't enough people working on GW1 to make that happen, and there isn't a 'need' for it. Outside of the 4 non-core classes, there are lots of armor options already. Choose one you like best or play a different class if it matters that much to you.

You can keep dreaming.
All model designer are taken in GW2. It was a miracle they bothered making the two Nichoas and Yakkington.
All models in the menagerie are reused.
But, of course I also want more armor. And more exactly, I want each crafter to have the same number of armors for ALL professions.

they could definately add some more armor in a future content update. to make things easier, anet could start a design-a-fancy-armor-art contest with nice rewards like a npc in gw2 will be named after the 3 best artist.

Good idea, Lotro does that. Players have designed cloaks and weapons.

I would like more armor, and more sedate choices, I don't want any of the current styles changed, just more options. I'd pay 9.95 for an add on armor pack, like we have asked for. I really miss the outfit system (I'm a graphic designer, colors and how things look are my job) in LOTRO. You have your base armor, but can wear whatever as an outfit and still retain arm or stats etc. The picture above of my champ, is an outfit, and not the true armor I wear (it's but ugly, but had superior stats at the time of creation. I crafted it myself, I really miss crafting armor, and clothing).

I don't mind the spiky/pointy armors, except on the Assassin. Just how the frag are you supposed to assassinate a target wearing Vabbian? Trying to get any force on a dagger blow would cause you to lacerate, if not remove, your own arm...

Indeed, my Deldrimor warrior armor would cause me to commit suicide if I tried to move my arms above my head. Too many "Inuyasha styles" in game. I would REALLY like period armor, but that's not gonna happen in a game with no basis in time. A friend said being a foreignly owned game their main audience is from elsewhere To kill my warrior just salute him, he'll stab himself to death returning it. A female player suggested the artists need dates, the armor is very Fruedian. LOL
