Ability to change draw distance
As the title says, a slider to change the draw distance would be great.
From a distance, objects appear as 2D sprites until you get close enough when they turn into 3D objects. Since GW was released more powerful hardware has become available and a lot of players could easily run GW smoothly with a high draw distance, also people with less powerful hardware could lower this draw distance to improve performance.
Anyways, a couple of pics for an example.
Image 1:
As you can see, the tree is a flat 2D image.
Image 2:
The tree is more aesthetically pleasing in all its 3D glory.
Would love to know if this would be possible, cheers.

a lot of powerful hardware has come on the market in the 4 years GW has been out.
Not only should they provide the draw distance and LOD control but a checkbox to toggle high res armor textures which still requires a third party mod (KSMod) to activate.

Unclick your option to wait for vertical sync. I was able to do over double my FPS when I did that once, but I switched it back because it looked weird.

I'd love to have both of those things. Was going to download the KSMod but the large disclaimers on their website made me wonder if anet won't ban me for using it, so I decided to play it safe.

My FPS went through the roof today, 100+ (up to 180). I took some pics if you want to see. Used KSMod or whatever it's called, didn't turn off a thing.

would be nice i suppose, i get about 250 fps with everything maxed including AA so i would love for something to use all that FPS for i mean whats the difference from 300 to like 100 anyway. but i doubt they'll do this as this concerns graphics.

This kind if thing might need quite a bit of work depending on how the engine works.
And right now we need all of A net's crew to work on gw2 if we want it to come out before everyone has R15 and gwamm.

This is something that will probably be implemented into GW2. I don't see them doing this for the current game considering that the boxes still advertises the minimum requirements from 4 years ago.
There are a plethora of armor glitches that need fixing before the trees.
silly hippy.

Hey, if someone ha enough machine to have the best textures and full drawing distance, give them the option.
Engines usually have internal limitations, and sometimes they link them to option panles in which you can tweak such limitations.
The more options, the better.
I know of new games that can still run in a Pentium III 800Mhz, just by reducing graphical options, or use up the latest stuff out there, if you put it on max.
That's good, everyone plays, and those with more machine enjoy they inversion.

When I first started playing Guildwars I had a Pentium IV 2.5Ghz Machine with a GF6600GT card.. Right now I am rocking a QuadCore 3GHZ 8GB Ram & GF8800Ultra XXX
I would love this slider addition in the game options =)

Would be a really nice addition for those that don't have to worry about hardware issues. Also, it would be very nice for those of us that sometimes need to take really good shots of places in game without the 2d sprites messing things up. YES I'M LOOKING AT YOU KAINENG CENTER BOARDWALK!

If its an option then there isn't really much problem with it. People can just set it however they like.

There's a difference in the trees standing position and the way light hits it,flip between them quickly and watch the tree move.

There's literally a fraction of a second between the two screenshots. When you hit print screen it saves a screenshot automatically with the draw distance maxed out, but when you paste it into paint you get the screeny with normal draw distance.
Oh, and obviously this applies to more than trees xD.
