Tyrian Time - Making Guild Wars A Time Zone
Dont know if someone has ever come up with this idea before - but how about making Guild Wars a time zone - Tyrian Time - In our guild which spans 3 continents - it would simplfy the planning of events - and in a wider context would ease the understanding of what time events or launches would actually happen.
Recently, an event was published only in pacific time - and had thousands of people referencing different sources to establish what time that actually was in relation to there own zone!
A clock feature could even be included on the menu somewhere
If you like this idea - support it and maybe someone far smarter than I can do a poll - but I like it!!!"

There are about 15 threads on it in Sardelac Sanitarium.
I didn't like this idea, but I think I was the only person who didn't.

You can just use the windows clock to work out timezones, scroll down the list of timezones and find PST in relation to your clock.
But imo GMT is the standard time, anet should really use that instead, would cause less confusion as everyone knows where they stand in relation to GMT.

Best idea I've seen on here, so signed! Personally, I'd like it to be set to GMT. Not because I'm from the UK, but GMT is the time which the whole world is based off, is it not? As in PST = GMT-8 etc? (I know you can say well GMT=PST+8, but that's just not how it's written and seen throughout the world?)

EVE online has an ingame timer but i guess it's more to do with the fact that you have to finish your missions before acertain time in order to get a bonus reward.
Never the less it would be handy to actually get a clock.
Even if it is on PST it's handy since most events are coordinated towards PST.

/signed just to shut up half the population during the events. I'd prefer it if they went back to announcing events in GMT or CET as well though.

But what would be the point? People will just have to change their time from PST to GWT (Guild Wars Time) instead of PST to GMT. People just want a calculator to do a very simple calculation for them, that is all a clock in Guild Wars showing GMT would be doing.
If you really need a clock in Guild Wars, I suggest you buy a watch, or a clock to go in the room where you play. It can show your own time. When there is an event, you can do a simple sum like 12-8 to find out what time the event will be at in your time zone.
Or, use this page: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html
It will do the simple calculation for you.

Woot, TMT for Tyrian Mean Time?
I'm totally signed.
/signed
EDIT: They could base it off PST with the day/night cycle a quarter of how it is like in real life.

Whats the point?
To have a fancy time?
Sure, sounds okay but in time it'll become.. dusty.
Who's gonna go up to there friends at school 1 yr later and say, hey ill met you at LA at 6:00 TMT? No, id just say 4pm real life time.
/signed, but will become pointless.

Yer OK point taken - but this is a fantasy game we are playing here - I am sure most people can work out the time differences- - but the adding of a tyrian clock would add to the verisimilitude - and - bring people together more under one time zone! Tyria has its own calendar - so why not its own clock -
Like saved skill sets - makes things easy - fun - and practical!

Absolutly signed
Then A.net would have it very easy to set there event too, everybody would know when something starts.
But I would make it alot easier to set a time for guildevents and such.

Yup, settíng the game could get Windows time set and have a /clock or /time command to show time.
Or even a 'clock panel'.

There are another two options.
The @Swatch Internet Time.
And the Wiki has UTC.
If people check the time in the Wiki at UTC, they should see the time ingame at UTC.
And UTC is Universal!

Funny, me and my guildies were talking about this as an option for GW2. Or a form of it.
We were talking on how it would be sweet if GW2 had a day/night system, and somehow got into saying that they should have their own time system. That way, it would be easier to have in game events (like have them start at sun rise and end at sun down a few days later, in game sun of course).
Whether the time used is a "game time" or shows the time that the game (and it's events) are based on show is good. And like it's been said before, it will work well with player made events.
I'll /sign for either, using the /time or /clock command to get it.
(P.S. Add a poll )
