Default Community Bank

Maybe have a seperate bank that members of the GUILD ONLY can access, but have to pay a larger amount of gold, and have to pay whenever they access it.

Example: You can place items in both your personal vault and the community vault, and everytime you access the Guild Vault, it has both a log of who has accessed it, tooken, or left something in it, and with a date. It may have a fee, approximatly 500g or 1k to use it, for the purpose of gold sinks.

The reason this may be implemented is because if you join a Guild you should

A). Be able to trust your Guild Mates
B). Be able to pool your money to buy features for a GuildHall.

Now you may call it "abuse-able" but what I want to clarify, whatever you put in, you risk. It has the log as a security measure (lol) to prove that somebody DID IN FACT take an item from that vault.

Now the problem with pooling your resources on one person is the fact that he may be able to take the money and leave you with nothing.

It would be a purchase-able feature in the GuildHall for about 10-20k.

I'd like to hear your thoughts.

P.S. Please leave positive comments, I really don't like anyone that says "you're lazy, and suck it up," or whatever, we all can suggest things, don't make us feel bad for that.

In my guild, when we host an event or something
All the officers donate money/gold, whatever
to the GL, who has a character with no other purpose other than holding money/items for events/rewards.

I don't think you need this entire system for something like this, just a trustworthy guild leader or officer.

I'd be willing to bet it has similar issues as an auction house has with server requirements. This isn't a simple thing for the servers to handle. Money alone may be feasible, but recording who put what in, when, etc. would start to take a lot of server space. And that ignores the fact that people would abuse it. Guild hopping to find a guild worth ripping off would become common.

That's why you dont put in valuable stuff. I guess money-only would be a nice option too, thats basicly all you need to store in guilds, and maybe be the Guild-leader that can access it, not officers or members

and just because of that it will be 100% avoided by ppl joining a new guild they don't know

and since it would be ONLY used by ppl who know & trust eachother why not just give it to one guy (ex. guild leader)?

As the GL and main player in my (small) guild, I've often thought it would be good to have a common guild pool to put money, items, etc that I don't want to immediately use, but might be useful for other guild members.

I'd even thought of a similar implementation - it records a history of what is put in and taken out, and by whom, and maybe posts a message to guild chat. This would allow the GL or officers to monitor the situation and deal with any anti-social behaviour.

I think this would definitely be used by small guilds where everyone in the guild is trusted.

Yeah small guilds that trust each other. This would be a real cool idea if most guilds were like that.

/signed for the beautiful simplicity

Well dont forget that it'd be a buy-able service, so as far as I know, it's not purchase-able by members/officers. Atleast I think so, I'm not 100% sure. Even so it doesnt NEED to be put in, it's an option and a gold sink. 2 gold-sinks actually

If this were to be implemented, you would need to have some kind of "trusted members" thing, so that the GL can choose who has access and who doesnt, otherwise it will become easily abused. Or possibly a set amount of time such as the AT 4 members older than 2 weeks system, that would prevent guild hopping a quick way to make money.

That is one thing, but I still perfer Guild leader wich owns that Hall may access it. Since members of another guild can't talk to the guild lord it shouldnt be hard to implement.

they could make it similar to the WoW guild bank feature. You can put items and gold in the bank but are limited to how you can take them out. And some guilds had a tab dedicated to merchant items so the Guild Leader / Officer can merchant those items and place the gold in the guild bank.

Guild Leader - Complete Access
Officers and Members - Access Determined by Guild Leader

Yet I don't see this happening till GW2 if at all, same with auction house.

I've been in games where they've had community storage and it's just not that awesome. People take things they're not supposed to and it turns into a big fiasco about who took what and who should be raped by a hentai tentacle monster of doom. No. /notsigned.

Basically the same thing they have in Warcraft already. A place to store good between guildmates.

I would say yes, but that's just because the guild I'm in is 4 people. My family. :P

For others, it's a matter of trust mainly. Do you trust your guild enough to put stuff in the bank and not steal it and completely clean you out?

I'd support this. It'd make it easier for the guild leader (who is often times the one who stores stuff).
