Rather than make all these little meaningless updates (like more minis), how about ANet just takes half a year off to make some new content?
In the end, interesting, challenging, non-repetitive content is the only way they can keep more players...

They aren't going to do that although I would love it if they did. Our best chance at new content is a new area which appears very unlikely so I thought throwing out the mini idea was a good one since its implementation seems more likely to actually happen although in the end I would have loved to see more new areas etc...its just not realistic

Been suggested, and it's pretty useless as it just further's e-peen by making them obtainable in said methods. It's counter productive because people already farm those areas and just gives the hardcore farmers more money, without offering any new incentive for people to start doing those areas especially.
Focusing on REAL new content would be better,I would much rather they went back and reskinned some of the pathetic/unused weapon skins such as woven shields, and make some pvp skins liek the canthan machete available in pve.

Guild Wars stimulus plan... Give each account 5k. This will help the in-game economy and also encourage people to buy more accounts. A win win for everyone.

As one who played mostly PvE, i see jumping into PvP as "new content" for me, and i think that this could be interesting also for other people (so the future updates could focus partly on this), but the argument of bridging the gap between PvE and PvP has been already discussed many times, and i don't think it will come to anything..

This other day i thought of a sweet miniature idea, it was Bone minions but had Bone Minion, Flesh Golem, Shambling Horror, Bone Fiend, and when you activated the mini they would come out from the ground like how you summon them. And when you de-activated it, they would all die...i think its cool...but thats just me

I don't think minipets are actually meaningful enough to keep people playing for. They're useless, and a lot of people, myself included, could care less about them. If they spent the next update making a bunch of minipets instead of fixing things and making more content I'm going to be really pissed off.

What anet needed to do was build on the current game like SOE still does (in 2009 yes) with their 1999 game EverQuest. It's not hard... you add content or classes or a new campign or some new quests or grounds to explore in the current game. But they said thats too hard and GW2 was a better idea. So making an ENTIRE NEW GAME FROM SCRATCH is easier than adding onto an older game that it's players demand every day.

I still think ArenaNet could have kept pumping out campaigns, just without new classes and also remove some of the old unused skills to replace with new ones.
I think people would have bought them, kept playing, etc.

New minis? That is all you want? For no reason, other than something new? Seriously? Minipets serve no purpose. They are only for personal enjoyment, as some people like how they look, or believe other people think they are cool because they have a rare one. Mini pets are added every year. Occassionally they added them with a promotion (Grawl, Panda, etc.) or through a magazine offer (Giant, Shiroken, etc.). All other ones are specific to unique features in the game. Black Moa, Yakkington, Polar Bear, Celestials, etc. We really don't need a new mini pet, especially from a source that would just be farmed.
Wait til the game has been out for 5 years if you want new mini pets.

There are much better things they can do that will actually improve the game rather than adding pointless minis......

Id suggest instead of any new features they sort the current issues in the game, espically the lag, or they wont have anyone left to play the new features. Come on 40k Pings in the home districts, unacceptable.

I personally would like to see the griffon's back in the old griffon farm place
..i was sad when they removed most of them and pumped that area just round the corner from augry rock full of scarabs. scarabs suck that was a fun farm spot once apon a time.

Theres new mini pets every year as it is. Takes up more storage. I'd like to have more reasons to keep playing guild wars than farming for more "stuff". Real content would be nice. But it probably end up turing into anothe speed clear...

Well what I would like the upcoming update to include would be the update itself and for it to be on time. But in relation to your minis idea, I think minis are as useless as many others find them... get them, add them to HoM, ditch them. But if we were to get new minis, I think it would be pretty epic to get one of each god/goddess including Abbadon. Aside from that, remove heroes from HA/GvG, etc.

GW is like a house.
Eventually, people sometimes get bored with the look of the house they're in, and want to redecorate. But redecoration will not make a house with a gigantic hole in the roof any better, get it? Instead of adding meaningless stuff to a broken game, let's fix the stuff in the game that is broken (such as SF and ER), ok? Then we can worry about making more pretty stuff for players to look at.
