And the answer to that is crafting, not "something like Runescape". That game is so pathetic.

You dont appreiciate craptastic graphics and ten second quests? Not to mention ALL the benefits you get if you are unintelligent enough to pay them for the game.

Is Guild Wars 2 really going to be called Guild Wars 2? It just sounds rather stupid to me...

ya it will be called so...
juts look at the games logo
I know what you mean, I theoretically would erase too the "2" and give the game just an Under Title, but that would later look not good and would irritate people only, because people would just believe then, that the Game will be just another campaign of GW1 and not a complete new game..
so there has to be something, that will ensure, that people can see the difference of both games within their game names and that can be done only by calling Guild Wars 2 GW2, only by giving the name this "2", we wil see the difference later, once GW2 becomes also additional Camapaings or Add Ons however with undertitles ...

GW2 Idea: Instancing w/ Ship Travel
Currently the GW1 game allows instant travel between continents. Just click on the ship, select your destination, and you're there.
With GWEN, we saw the introduction of Dungeons with instancing between levels.
What about combining the two? I mean, say a journey between continents takes 3 days of shipboard travel. But on three levels of instancing "days" and you could have youself a profitable adventure ranging from a peaceful journey to attacks from sea monsters or pirates or whatever.
So, would such an idea work for "first time" travel only and leave the instancing between continents the way it is? I'm guessing that several people will probably not like the removal of instancing between continents after they've been back and forth several times.

My biggest thought on GW2, which involves creating a character with profession and whatnot. I'll just set up the order of what you do to create a character and its profession and whatnot.
1)Choose a Race
2)Choose a Gender
3)Choose your looks *face, skin/hair color, etc.*
4)Choose your name
you start playing, no profession yet. Like in pre-searing ascalon, you start quests, but instead of going right to your primary profession, you can sample all professions, like when you choose a secondary in GW1. After choosing a Primary, you then choose a secondary, same way as with your primary, but you cannot choose the same profession as your primary. In other words:
1)Do "test quests" for Profession Choosing
2)Pick Primary Profession *ex. necromancer*
3)Do "test quests" for Profession Choosing again *cannot do necromancer "test quests"*
4)Pick a Secondary Profession*ex. ritualist*
5) your now a necromancer/ritualist of whatever race and gender you picked.
I think this will be a really good system to have, seeing how if there are new professions/the professions are changed compared to GW1, people can see what they like to play before they actually choose a profession.
Another Idea that I have is concerning the level cap and leveling. I think that a level cap would be best at level 50, with a leveling rate the same as Nightfall, or a rate that is between Prophecies and Nightfall. As for enemy levels, they would be a little higher, two to five level difference, then a basic level throughout the game, but having bosses a five to seven level difference and "big bosses" such as Habilon from Prophecies, or Varesh from Nightfall being about seven to ten levels higher. And of course, The Ancient Dragons and their Generals would be about level 55*the weaker generals* to level 70 *the Ancient Dragons themselves*.

Guild Wars 2 - FOR MAC
Over the last 2-5 years, I have seen a huge increase in the amount of Macs being purchased by people who are dissatisfied with PCs and their inherent problems.
I myself have used PCs for 10+ years, and will be purchasing an iMac within a month.
---
World of Warcraft is the only MMORPG (that I know of) this is available for the Macintosh.
Since Guild Wars 2 is still in development, I think that this is the perfect time to explore including Mac users.

More ideas for GW2
The current possible races to play as are Humans, Slyvari, Asurans, Charr, and Norn. I suggest adding Undead, Centaur, and Tengu to that list. I also suggest that each race has a different starting point. And as previsouly stated, combine the map for Tyria and Elona, I would love to see Cantha included as well but that is too big of a gap sadly, and the map would be WAY to small. The places which I find most reasonable for starting places in GW2 for all 5 known races, and the 3 I suggested are as follows:
Asura - Underground or Rata Sum
Slyvari - A new town ade around the tree Slyvari are born from
Humans - Divinity Coast
Norn - Gunnar's Hold
Charr - Rin
Centaur - Maguuma Forest
Undead - Bone Palace
Tengu - somewhere in the unexplorable area north of Kryta
The reason why I suggest Undead, Centaur, and Tengu to be playable races is that all 3 have been in 2 of the 3 campaigns, and tengu and centaurs were in EotN as well, and being so popular, people may want to be able to play as them. Undead would only be a race if Palawa Joko is a good guy, at least makes an alliance to fight the dragons. Or even he could be bad and the Undead can still be an enemy to all other living creatures and the Dragons at the same time, just as Charr will more then likely be at war with both the Dragons and humans.
Another suggestion I have is to have the tutorial seperate from the rest of the game, much like pre-ascalon. But instead of 2 years passing by, it would only be a couple days to a few weeks. In the "pre" for GW2, it will be before the Ancient Dragon's awakening, and "post" will be after that. There should be several "pre's," one for each race, and only one post.
My last suggestion, for now, is to give each race a different storyline, at least for no less then 1/4 of the game, then some of the storylines combine and all storylines end with killing Primordus. Perhapes each seperate storyline ends with killing the dragon that awakens in the starting area of that race *ex: Undead fight the Desert Dragon, Charr fight the Water Dragon, Norn fight 'Drakkar', etc.*

just a small change i would like to see be done in the profession system.
disable the feature were u get to pick one specific race for a character a class system like in runescape would work extremely well in guild wars 2 were you get to be any class whenever you want instead of just picking only one.
this would create extreme roleplaying opportunities.
for example if you wanna train your warrior skills simply grab a sword and start the training.
if you wanna train mage or ranger skills get a bow or a staff.
and instead of creating new classes like dervish, assasin etc add those features on to warrior/ranger/mage so this way we wouldn't be flooded with a million different classes like now and pvp would be way more balanced with only three classes.
so if you wanna create a new class like dervish or something just give warriors the ability to weild scythes instead of making a whole different class.
this would also let us experiment much more easily with different hybrid characters.
if you need anymore examples on how to create a system like this go get some pointers from runescape.

how to attack¿
i think it would be nice that you can attack like 1 click close to a monster when you are melee you only attack once!
and when you are magic(bolts) and ranged you go to first person with(or without) a crosshair.
That would make the game more sportive.
and else you can do it that you can choose between this and GW1 attacking style.(click and walk to it and attack.)

Allow skill differences between PVE and PVP
Allow skills to be somewhat different between PVE and PVP. This is primary for skill balancing, where PVE players shouldn't have to suffer for certain PVP abuses, or the other way around. Of course, major skill changes would affect both PVE and PVP.
Auction House
Please please add some form of auction house in GW2, it has been badly needed in GW1 since the current trade system involving spamming is highly crude and ineffective. If not for GW1 then please add one for GW2.
Make ALL titles obtainable for all
For example, Survivor title could be based on X experience gain since last death. Your progress will reset on deaths but you will still be able to display the highest rank you achieved before that. Titles like "Legendary Defender of Ascalon" shouldn't really be added at all unless all future expansions can gain it as well.
Adaptive Skills
If certain skills is over-represented in PVE or PVP, allow them to automatically degrade. Maybe losing a little bit damage, maybe gaining additional second recharge etc. No major changes!. This is true the other way around, a skill could automatically start to improve if it's severly under-represented in PVE and PVP builds. Maybe weekly (minor) changes to the most/least used skills.

On Trading...
Ever since the beginning of GW's intro of the Party Search panel, I realized that the trading problem hadn't been solved. three things need to be done:
1: remove the trade channel, no one uses it effectively since there's too much spam.
2: make selling and buying two different tabs in the players tab. It is difficult and annoying scrolling down an entire 89 entries looking for someone buying something. By making two different tabs instead of a general trade tab would facilitate the business part of this game more.

I'm to lazy to read Everyhing (21 pages are allot, isnt it?)
But I think they have to remove the fast travel and make allot of transport options, like flying mounts (Flying over the Shiverpeeks in gw2 <3)
And boat's and weird flying things
Aaand an auction house! Selling things in gw is very hard these days.

Personally, I think (and hope) that map travel is going to be replaced with Asura gates put in all/most outposts. A optional "slow travel" option could be fun, and if like a flying mount over the Shiverpeaks, pic mania.

Why would you rather have a much slower travel? Map travel is one of the reasons I love GW.
