Arnt gods meant to be omnipotent? meaning that normal players shouldnt really stand any chance in a fight with them anyway?

Since when are GODS bound by the rules of mere mortals? In that regard, what's stopping any of these gods from limiting themselves to only 8 skills? Imagine if they could dynamically change their skills/behavior, etc; since they are gods of multiple professions/skills/attributes. Now that would be cool... but, yeah wishful thinking, I know.

Provided Infinite energy i suppose this is okay.

Fire and rage. Say hello to kd hell. This is what pve monsters feel like when you use great dwarf weapon.
Earthquake is more KD hell than an AI earthshaker tbh.
Melandru

Melandru's over glass? Decent I guess other than that...nothing in any of the builds besides energy surge to exploit famine, more of a free level 20 famine for 600 farmers.
Grenth
[pre][Aura of the Lich][Shatterstone][Soul Leech][Animate Flesh Golem][Jagged Bones][Corrupt Enchantment][Lingering Curse] [Destructive was Glaive][/build][/pre]
Glaive will make him frontline, and no rit skills to exploit it. Soul leech generally sucks. Death nova would be more annoying than corrupt/flesh golem.
Lyssa
[pre][Simple Thievery][Symbols of Inspiration][Visions of Regret][Tease][Illusionary Weapon][Energy Surge][Locust's fury] [Hex Eater Vortex][/build][/pre]
I hope you give them 20 in every attribute or first skill is wasted.
IW generally sucks except Permas, high hits would be better since IW at 20 is low for HM.
Are the gods wimpy now?
|
Still could be better, needs less full elite bars Humility Signet and more 8 monster skills.
Slavers summits in Hm would piss me off more than this.

I had an idea similar to this about a year ago. Have 5 separate Solo missions you can get from the statues and at the end you fight the god.

This is actually pretty interesting. Maybe for GW2. Make it a sort of team-ascension PvP of some sort. The God's need to test you personally. See if you're ready to do X part of the game.
This intrigues me. Really. I'd like to see it happen.

Doesn't fit with the lore at all.

How in Tyria would players be able to fight the Gods and win?
I think you're forgetting how powerful the Gods are. The only reason you could even hurt Abaddon was because of the chains of Balthazar. Without them, he's completely invulnerable. In other words, unless you had some kind of advantage like that with the other gods, there would be no way for players to be able to fight them and have a hope of victory. Even a permaSF sin would be helpless against them, for the same reason that permaSF is god mode in most of the game: you can't kill what you can't hurt. Eventually, even a permaSF sin would mess up in maintaining SF and the god would kill them.
So, unless you give the gods some artificial handicap of some sort or decide to completely throw out all the lore about them, it would be an unwinnable battle. And really, why would the gods want to fight a player in the first place?
Now, if you wanted to have the players fight the avatars of the gods, then that would be more feasible. However, you still run into the question of "why?" (well, except Balth; I think he'd want to do it for the fun of it) and the fact that Anet already has enough on their plate as it is (some would even say they've taken on too much).
