Default Allow r2 glad to display in the hom

This isn't a qq thread about how hard ra is - I actually enjoy it and the balth faction I get from it. However, it's harder to get glad points than any other kind of points already (it requires you to get a team with no more than 1 terrible person, and win not 1 but 5 games in a row to even get 1 point) And with the coming removal of TA it will be impossible to get more than 2 points (4 on a double weekend) at a time unless they change the title. Why not allow people to display gladiator in their HOM after they reach r2 instead of r3?

This would accomplish several things, not the least of which to get the pve only people who are only playing ra to put it in their hom out of ra and into somewhere else. And it would have no effect, good or bad, for the people who don't care about that anyway (like it would if they changed the way you receive glad points etc.)

First off, 3 points (1 for 5 wins, 2 for 10).

Second, I know that after 10 wins teams won't be sent to TA - I had just assumed they were staying in RA until they lost. Have you heard this somewhere that you can get no more than a 10 win streak after the removal?

Either way, /notsigned as it's not hard to get glad3 - I don't have it myself, but that doesn't mean it's not easy.

What? Win streaks will go on infinitely with the removal of TA...

Your argument seems to be that a lower rank should be the point at which you can put the title in the HoM because it would then not ask so much of PvEers to play those arenas, resulting in less PvE players in PvP.

If that's your argument, why not ask all of the PvP titles to have lowered requirements?

I think the requirements are fine as they stand.

This.

r3 glad can be obtained in literally a week if you're with high-end TA'ers.

r3 is easy to get by just playing on a couple double weekends (that's how I got mine, haven't bothered outside of events)

With high-end TA'ers... it takes all week. And I'm assuming that you play Guild Wars every day during that week? I love how you guys all say it's so easy to earn titles. Try going outside every once in awhile. I've had the game for 4 years, am pretty good at PvP and still don't even have r1. So quit railing this guy for asking an honest question. Chances are, he has a life outside of the video game.

Lol. Just.... Lol.

When I went for my g7 I was pulling in 40-60 glad points a day with only doing 4 hours a day. It's not exactly hard.

But ty for the lol's. If you have been playing for 4 years and don't even have r1 Glad, as you have stated, then you are not "good", once more, as you have stated.

Carry on.

edit: If you think I was "railing" the OP then you sir need to get thicker skin.

People have r3, so there is no point to the laziness of r2.

PvP title grinding doesn't equal skilful pvp play ... for casuals who just do few RA matches in the week, getting 200 glad points can take few months ... while on the contrary it would be much easier to get by being part of decent TA team at 'noob hours'. The only advice I can give is to find yourself a pvp guild which does something besides HA or GvG ... with coordinated people it's always more efficient to get points and you happen to learn more about the game. Random bit of thought, you can play 4 or so years alone, while your more ambitious friend will have more pvp experience and skill than you in one or two months solely by playing with decent players willing to teach newbies. The only obstacle is the fact you need BF to unlock everything and that can stop you for some time, since I don't count pve experience as productive towards becoming better at pvp.

It's a bit like ... get used to the rules of the game and exploit them, or play the game how you want with all of it's negative consequences. If you fight with the system instead of getting used to rules within it, you are destined to fail. Should you choose the latter, there is poor chance you will get higher ranks of titles in decent speed or that you will perform well in top pvp, getting used to some 'noob' or 'scrub' habits that prevent you from doing your best ... if you don't do everything to reach a desired goal 'because you have a life outside video game', then you have already set a priority ... game is on your bottom, so it shouldn't bother you so much. This game is just as competitive as it can be compared to many other games around, where you could just use your wallet if you lack time, experience or skill and suddenly jump into the top.

Now, I'm not saying high rank title equals skill ... often not, if you look at those people who farmed high HA rank solely by IWAY, VIMWAY, SHITWAY and other degenerate builds at their times. But, without any doubt, skill doesn't equal efficiency ... you don't need to be most skilled player in the world if you are efficient as an individual as well as a part of your team, and you happen to crush the opposition. I look at 'skill' more like the way of how you play and your overall experience ...

Second advice you can derive from this, if there happens to be a degenerate/overpowered build, then abuse it to your hearts content ... it will make getting titles easier, it will give you more fun, it might even level other people down to your efficiency level, should their builds be weaker in particular situation. What I mean is, I know a great deal of 'weekend players' (many of them are my friends) who play GW maybe 10-12 hours a week mostly at weekends for close to 3 years and despite lack of top-notch player skill and 'no-lifer' attitude at gaming (plus too much free time on their hands, which they have not), they are over g5 glad and r10 HA rank now ... what's the difference between them and you? They don't fight with the game, they fight with other people given the tools inside the game. If there is efficient and easy to coordinate build, they use it, if there is double weekend, they use it, if there is a particular time when more weak players play, they gather at that time for easier points towards the title.

tl'dr' - it doesn't matter how long you play, but how you play ... GW unlike many games truly rewards one's skill, passion and devotion to the game, as long as the particular individual is willing to adapt to changing environment and seek most efficient (not necessarily fun, but often satisfaction of victory/success = fun itself) ways to succeed.

Well its easy to get points in mass when you sync....

Playing legitimately Jonnie and you don't get points nearly as fast. But still /notsigned

Don't whine that it's too hard. It's not.

I think R3 is going to become absurdly easy once they stop kicking teams into TA. Getting 4 points every 5 consecs is going to be enormous.
