I say bring back TA, offer doubled rewards as that of RA, ASSASSINATE ALL GIMMICK BARS TO HELL for TA ONLY [i.e. Shovespike, RtL, etc..] and let the fun ensue!
I don't personally see why Anet can't just tailor/nerf skills for specific arenas exclusively tbh..

Hero Battle was a potentially decent concept that was absymally executed because it epic failed in actually being hero battles.
What the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO does cap n' squat have to do with PvP? Even AB requires you to spec for offense. A hero version of TA would have been more interesting.

^Post above me is a good idea, although I really don't care if they put it back the way it used to be, as long as I get it back.
First off to all the people saying "ITS NEVER GUNNA HAPPEN QQQQQQ", I'm well aware of the amazingly slim chances of this actually getting it back. That said, that probably applies to 99% of the suggestions in Sardelac anyway. But the point of Sardelac is to offer a suggestion on what you would like to see implemented in the game, and so I am doing so.
Secondly, actual HB did have its fair share of problems, and if it was put it back in it would be a great bonus to have Crossing taken out of the map rotation, although I'm fairly sure this was suggested for many years without Anet bothering to do it. Either way, HB had it's flaws but so does most of the game anyway. If you didn't like HB thats fine, I'm aware the majority didn't like it. But I do believe there are quite a few people who did enjoy HB, bugs and all.

It was soooo degenerate... I enjoyed it when I first played but seeing the same thing over and over and over just drove me insane. And talk about AI influence on PvP... 6/8 AI players is just too abusable in so many ways...

Anet said that HB was flawed, so they removed it. It's not comming back.

It was flawed because Anet never payed any attention to it and never did any skill balances for it. We payed the price for the problems they caused.

Hero battles was flawed because it used heroes. It wasn't a small handful of skils "ruining the format", it's that whatever high-level match wasn't determined by build wars, was instead determined by whether your hero tripped for a few seconds at some point, and you fall forever behind the capwars. Well, all the matches that weren't fixed/resigned that is, including the past several mAT finals.
Also HB *was* basically TA when only the center shrine counted for morale. 90% of people played spirit spam and the remaining 10% tried to fight it with fire overload.

That's the same excuse Anet used, and yet CA has lost its playerbase faster than any other PvP format Anet has introduced.

It wasn't like TA at all, the fact that you still had to split between shrines was one of the major reasons spirit spam worked (other than being horribly overpowered at the time). It didn't help that spirits bug heroes either.

No way HB is coming back...
I recall A-net monitoring the amount of games played. I can't remember the source, though, but they said that there was only an influx on RR days. Go figure.
I can sympathize with losing something you enjoy, I've never played HB, but from what I see, it's best if it stays gone.
Perhaps you can learn to love another format?

Stop trying to be the victim. It's Anet's game and they can do whatever they want with it. Do you honestly think that they are going to revert that mess of a arena based on a suggestion forum? The only things Anet ever takes from these threads are ideas for new ideas to implement in their game to keep it alive a bit longer.

What would be a good idea is for players to fight 1v1, without any outside help. However, then it would eliminate alot of classes from play, since people will just run spike builds or heavy damage builds. So then Anet is like.....since that wouldn't work, we will just add heros, and on top of that, we will add shrines to make it even better.
Well.....things just didn't work out the way Anet wanted it to, sucks for them, and for us.

Cool, another one of these threads. This has been suggested before, pretty much all over the forum.
No need for another thread.
