Default Difficulty Modes
Propose that there is a way to set Hard Mode as the default difficulty.

I would enjoy this as I spend most of my time in Hard Mode.

/notsigned- this change then hurts the people who want to play NM more often than HM. If anything make the game remember which setting you were in last area and keep that mode on.

Then they should not check the proposed box in settings to make the default HM.

Wouldnt be half bad to go straight into farming without wasting a couple minutes loading to find out im in NM

More options is almost always good
I think that many people now spend the majority of their time in hardmode, including me, and this would certainly be useful when I'm half-asleep and farming and forget to change the difficulty.

How would this affect the people who play NM more? Its just an option to select which mode you would want to stay in not making HM only the default.

I dont see making more work for Anet, that could be spent on something more beneficial, just because you are too lazy, or oblivious, to push a button that already exists. Is it annoying that when you go to the GH or GToB that you get thrown out of HM? Yes. Do I forget about this happening? Yes. Do I think that Anet should waste time with my petty annoyances? No. Just pay more attention to that little box on the party screen.

Wouldn't care if they did, but it isn't important. As noted, it isn't hard to click a button and pay attention to what you are doing. But it would be nice for the people who frequent their guild hall or GToB.

The only thing I'd want from this feature is the ability to enter HM /w a char that hasn't hit lvl 20.
Being able to VQ NF noob island or one of the early Kourna areas for those GOREDENGINE "Gain X sunspear rank" quests in NF is really the only thing I can see it affecting.
Then again, I have all 10 chars already and the two NF locals aready passed it, so it'll really only help other ppl. /meh

/signed i think it would be nice to be able to make it the player's control to set whether default is nm or hm. benificial for both the people who like nm and for the people who like hm. default default would be nm, then just have a button that makes hm the default. it also would have saved me about 20k so far in UW/FoW

For people who Hard Mode alot, option in setting to make it Hard Mode when u log in.. when u map.. GH.. GtoB, Doesn't mean you can't do NM :P
But to be honest. I don't really mind with it how it is

I always freaking forget to check before I go out to VQ. Luckily I always catch it within the first couple enemies, but it's still obnoxious. Just have an option to tick it as default, that way if you have a friend who's starting a new character, or someone who's just started playing, you don't have to worry about remember to switch over every time you come from a VQ/Mission/Whatever.

I can't remember how many times I had to go back due to going to the guild hall, coming back and forgetting to reset the thing again.
