There should be an option to turn the color filter to text like
Guild: Player Name: Text
or
Trade: Name: Text

I myself am a little colorblind. I have trouble with the color of the local chat and the guild chat. Thats why I almost allways have the local chat turned off. I don't know how far this can go for some people, but maybe it's nice when you can choose the colors the different chats have. For me it never has been a big problem, but I can understand it can be for some.

I think this is something very important. I hope a group of you talk to ANet and at the very least bring it to their attention, if not openly give ideas for change.
I'd really like to see a game tailor itself to allow everyone to play, in a similar fashion to allowing multiple languages to be incorporated.
Please, please, please do not just let this go. This is a brilliant idea and should be made real!

Color blindness is not a single condition but there are several different types and varying degrees of severity (I have one of the more severe types). In most cases you can compensate for the anomalous reception of different wavelengths on your own by adjusting the per-component gamma value of your monitor. As an example, a protanopic person like me must boost the red level and tone down the green level. While the result may not look 'right' there will be a perceivable difference in brightness between two colors that used to look indistinguishable.

I am aware there are different variations to color blindness, and I was thinking similar to the language options, you can adjust based on which type you have.
However, I am happy to know that you can adjust your monitor's color saturation!
And to Zahr Dalsk, I hope you live you life without ever suffering from an illness, deficiency or deficit. But if you do, I hope the people around you are much more thoughtful and kind then you are.

Anyways.. I'd /sign, I can imagine It must be sort a tough to not be able to distinguish certain colors, adding symbols for different chats wouldn't hurt.

just place a [G] in front of guild chat, [L] for local etc etc when you see a new message. And make it optional
so it will be something like [G] No Connection: sdagsafgsafadsa
