As far as OP's idea goes...couldn't hurt anything really just rig it so that you can't have people piggyback for monster-less cartography. I can see one major problem though, runs. Anyone could do the Drok run, for example, with an empty skillbar.

Kill the stuff that gets in your way. Not hard.

Implementing something like this just for those people that are too lazy to do so is dumb,
even more so because this can potentially lead to abuse.

Maybe not just Legendary Vanquisher but for Legendary cartographer and Vanquisher. that way it cant be exploited.

also have it only for the characters that have acheived it. so if partied with someone that does not qualify the option is not there. (like the hard mode option)

Remove chest spawns along with all the other spawns.

And I'm sure the developers appreciate that people enjoy the sceneries they have created. But I doubt they would appreciate having to recode every area in the game for a spawnless mode just so you can take screenshots.

I was joking... but when you already mentioned it imagine how currently non existing imaginary everlasting unbreakable lockpick would sell for. Alot!, cause of free items !!!!

yes, please do this. this way I could charge whatever I want for my vanqed droks run, just to add people and let them run the zones ememy free!

I don't even have to do the work of running!

We aer still waiting to see a reason WHY. As noted, it opens potential for several exploits. Chest running, mapping, running to outposts for other people, etc. are among them. Even if you find a way to PREVENT those exploits, what is the reason for having an empty map? Screenshots are the only thing I can think of, and that is a pretty thin reason.

What is the reason for this?

I don't really see a benefit to this, at least not one that outweighs the amount of effort it would take to create it and ensure it couldn't be abused.

Chests spawn with monsters, you can see this sometimes when there are pop-ups and a chest appears with them, taking out monsters would take out chests. If this wasn't the case there would be hordes of people chest-farming Zen Daijun.

Still, /notsigned due to killing monsters being what the game is about.

I guess I would only need speedboosts for the Drok's run then.

Also to vanq you need only kill the mobs that spawned when the zone first started, pop ups don't count. As such I've encountered monster pop ups even after I finished vanquishing a zone.

This would pretty much sum up the only way it couldnt be abused.

Wouldnt use it myself but i know some who would. Personally I dont think Anet would waste the time to implement something as major as this for the minority that would think about using it.

I like the idea because I like taking snap shots. I think people play GW without enjoying the graphics alot of times. But this can easily be abused (Running outposts, chest runs, cartographer) and clearing the area shouldn't be too much a problem.

I like the idea, it needs alot of restrictions though...

Such as: If you are in a party it is required for all members to have the title/titles (Legendary Vanquisher + Cartographer 100%?) and no way for you gain gold, items, quests, etc.

I would like this option, perhaps we could call it "Playground Mode" or something lol.

Only if chests are disabled.

As for mapping, they can easily map once they've vanquished a zone so objecting to them being able to map the area later is somewhat pointless/malicious.

/not signed. the OP didn't think about this very well at all. I understand the intent, but this would make cartography/chest running way too easy. Think about your post for at least 10 minutes before you make it. It usually works, and when it doesn't, you don't feel dumb for what you didn't think about.
