Party Vote Kick
After many afk'ers... i finally though "Why not make a vote kick system for the party?"
/kick (name here)
Votes have to be for over 50% of the party to count (should there be more than 1 afk'er.
Didnt see any other material ont his one.. so what do you guys think? I'm sure ppl are tires of having to /resign just because of afk players.

Why? In town the leader can make the decision to kick. And if the leader is afk then you can all leave and reform. Is this to kick in a midmatch(pvp) or in an explorable(pve). In either of those situations it wouldnt make sense. So anet logs them out or maps them towns just because half of an 8 man team (4 people meaning if theres heroes it would be half of those people who are players) types /kick (name)? Would lead to wierd things happening like a rare item drops from an enemy for a dead team member and just to be cruel and steal the item the whole rest of the team types /kick (name) and what can the player do? If he truely isnt afk how can anet know that and prevent the common pve scrub from finding a way to exploit a basic feature?

obviously.... this would not be for in a town - for blatantly obvious reasons.
if it's a rare drop; it wont be for them if they are afk and away from the action. There would have to be a timer (vote successful - member leaving group in :30) and you know; they dont have to be kicked back into town, kicked FROM THE GROUP - they can stay all they want and sit there all night for no reason - but at least this way the group can progress without the afk members.

for drama, if they implement this i think its obvious there going to add a little window like you get usually when you complete a mission of the items you didnt pick up, so people can't exploit that.

Stuff like this becomes depressing and is a good way to cause drama.
Learn to handle people, communicate, and have a good idea how things be yourself so you can help the person instead..

It would be good I agree but stuff like rare drops on the ground. Everyone will vote kick you from the team. That would be terrible if it was something like a BDS in SOO.

It's a good idea to kick people who deserve it, but it'll be exploited. First-person multilayer shooters usually have vote kick/bans for annoying players, and they can be abused easy. If GW were to have one, that would suck, royally, think of how many people already abuse the shit out of /report. Then we have some group that could be a bunch of guildies or friends that takes some stranger out somewhere, then vote kicks him to get his drops.

wait - gw is an instanced game. how would you kick someone from the group, but keep him in the location? unless he gets his own duplicated copy of the location the group is in, it's impossible.
/notsigned as it's very easy to abuse. it was proposed a few times since dhuum came out, but no one provided a 100% working and fair solution.

Uhm, don't take idiots in your group. This idea is begging for abuse, even more so than the /report system we have in PvP.

Discussed a gazillion times. There are rules , rules as such , kicked player gets its drops in the city so no , that shit you mention wouldnt happen.

The fun trick of democracy... the majority control the minority.
People will end up voting to kick because of invalid reasons such as disliking a skill bar, disliking the person's guild, raging at a healer for not healing or to steal some sort of phat lewt.
Way too susceptible to abuse, although I think afk players and leechers are a problem that should be dealth with somehow.

Been discussed a million times. Way to easy to abuse. Your guildies are in a run with a couple PUGs... oh look a obsidian edge from the end chest for the pug.... /kick

Solved if you do something I like to call the PSC - PUG Stupidity Check.
Have everyone ping their build. Look at their builds. Is the person a retard? Kick.
Repeat until the entire party is composed of good players.

Even if this had a time delay or the Unclaimed Items window, it would still be a bad idea.
1. Time delay wouldn't work if the kicked player is dead.
2. Afaik, Unclaimed Items window has only ever appeared after missions, so Anet may not be able/willing to add it to explorable areas.
3. If a player is bad or makes a common mistake, the party could just /ragekick him or her before finishing the area or getting the reward.

Without heroes I might agree to this, but for this to be effective and not abused you'd have to get in a full group. Even then, there would have to be an item window for the players that got kicked.

/no to 50% thats stupid, 1 more person in RA means a kick, 3 people in an 8 party team. It has to be unanimous among remaining members minus the one up for a kick otherwise it will be abused to hell

But that's a valid complaint. It's true that bad players will sometimes hate on good skill bars, but for the most part they'll accept them. Whereas if a good player dislikes a skill bar, it's usually because the bar is ass. So objecting to a skill bar is usually valid.

Yeah, cause that'll work real well, kicking one of your monks. Also, lol'd at "healer," as though pure healing is a good idea in HM (unless you have physicals with SY and other defensive skills, which most PUGs don't).

@ Zahr Dalsk
I had FA/JQ in mind as well as PvE, and when I said 'healer', I was trying to be inclusive to Rits as well as monks.
