Make old HB Polymock PvP and Minipets
Two separate but related ideas (shout out to Agar on GW2Guru for the idea)
1.) Make the old Hero Battles area into a new Polymock PvP area.
2.) Make the Minipets into Polymock pieces.
What I think?
Pros:
~ Would go one on one with a REAL person.
~ Have to be experienced a different professions and changing to them on the fly as opposed to just one throughout a tourney series and relying on others or Heros to back you up.
~ It also add a lot more content and feature to the game with not only real PvP version of Polymock, but new Polymocks (mini-pets).
Cons
~ The issue though would be more balancing in another realm of PvP. But since its already split from regular PvE and PvP, shouldn't effect much of anything.
~ It would pull resources from other GW things in order to accommodate.
~ Red Resign (RR)

So after the first week when the mode is not novel, it becomes Red Resign to farm whatever title/rewards that the arena has?

Pokemon much?
Most people despise polymock, so gaining support for this type of arena would be hard. I think it's an interesting idea, though...

Ok me personally... I don't play Polymock... so lay off the Pokemon crap, I called it Pokemon since day one. Also, I am not the real OP, that was Agar on a different forum in which I brought that idea over here to get you guy's input (noted in the OP).
I didn't care for Polymock especially because you have to play NPCs instead of players. But if you could play against players in an arena, would it really gain more interest? (is the main question here)
Updated Cons to add RR

Thank you for the shout out although in my opinion this is not a good idea for GW1. The developer team and is very limited (6 people i think) and GW2 will probably be released in less than a year so its too much work for something like that. Plus imagine the balance issues that will come up with so many minis around.
I realy hope they combine minis and polymock on GW2. It will something new and innovating.

Polymon is crap. The resign thing could probably be fixed pretty easily. Dishonour points or something for someone who quits (leaves or resign) in the first 2 mins or whatever. I haven't polymock'd in like 2 or 3 years, I don't remember how long it takes.

The winner is the bot that knows how to interrupt their opponent the most and doesn't do it through Block.
I would support something like this if the botter issue would have been handled, namely the interrupt bot issue. At this time, it's not worth doing.

I'd support this if Anet first and foremost sorted out the random lag spikes I'm experiencing of late. PvP Polymock would be unplayable. In case the lag issue is caused by me, /notsigned for this suggestion, because I wouldn't be able to compete in it anyway.

1. it would be fun
2. easily entered
3. eliminate RR by not giving any rewards AT ALL for it(or give it a ladder and give rewards for tourney winnings)
4. easily balanced
5. signed

A 1vs1 Polymock would not work...
But I don't think this could be really fun.
MAybe, just maybe, for a festival arena.
Bu never for a real PvP arena.
I could agree with being able to use miniatures as polymock pieces, though.

Yea, I'd be up for it, I'd like to see that kind of thing happen, and if it doesn't work out, might as well as be erased. There shouldn't be too much coding involved, imo, since the polymock basis is already here.

i loath polymock. never was able to get past the second dude. second all those rich peeps(not being mean here) can/or have those expensive minis so they will have the disadvantage over the newbies. also that RR day dont want that happening again. and so many other issues. but it was nice to see a new idea at least.

fixed for ya.
polymock is damn easy against the ai even with the starting pieces and would be awesome to actually play against a living opponent.
