Attribute Point Quests in Tyria
I have an idea that won't mess up the flow of Tyria, but will also promote people making Tyrian characters that aren't for being permanently in the Pre-Searing, or that are going for LDOA. My idea is this: If you have unlocked Hard Mode in Tyria, then there should be an NPC in a part of the early going of the Prophecies campaign that offers both Attribute Point quests, just as Factions and Nightfall have them. I would still totally create Tyrian characters if it were for this one deciding factor alone. It was great the way it was before the other campaigns were released, but there is a HUGE downside with creating a Tyrian character for play anymore because you have to wait so long to be able to get your Attribute Points. It is also my opinion that a lot of us(not all) create characters now NOT to get through entire campaigns but to get to places where we like to play with our friends etc. I believe this to be a reasonable addition to a game that is 5 years old.

within 16 hours of making my monk i had it level 20 with all att's. runs ftw, and just playing through proph isn't difficult enough for the missing 30 to be a huge issue.
and if anything, i think one of the quests should be in maguuma to get people to skip past less of prophecies.

What's the point of picking up the attribute quests early if you won't even be able to access the areas to complete them?
The structure by which your character grows in experience is a lot slower than how it's done in Cantha or Elona. Yet, in both of those regions, you can often reach and complete both of your attribute point quests before you're even level 15, and leave the campaign's territory shortly after. You'll likely be level 17 or so in a normal playthrough of Tyria before you even reach getting your first attribute point quest.
It might be kinda neat to change Prophecies' current attribute point quests to just giving some nice bulk of experience, and then dedicate a couple earlier achieved quests to granting players their 15 attribute points. The Villainy of Galrath comes across as a difficult quest that seems worthy of being one of those attribute point quests, though to complete that quest would likely be harder than any of the other non-Prophecies attribute point quests. If suitable existing quests can't be found for this purpose, I wonder how easy it would be to just make a new couple quests for Prophecies characters to gain their attribute point quests earlier.

I dunno. When you make a Prophecies character, you should be well aware that Prophecies is a very time dedicated game and that your achievements are more worth it later in the game...otherwise, just make a Fac/NF and makeover to tyrian.

and you dident know thing one about your class . where you get the 15 point attribute quests in proph is good placement considering its pace .you will learn the ins and outs of your class much better in proph than any other campaign. Of all the classes ive played the ones ive had the most trouble with are the ones i made in Factions because of its horrible pacing .

not really a big deal at all, if you don't want to invest time, don't make a character in prophecies.

Or they should have made the faction and NF attribute quests like also half way the game. It is no big deal more since there doable within a hour. Yet another game challenge ruined. But thats the way anet rolls

To most of these responses: They changed how late you got your attribute points for a reason. They did it because it was so cumbersome. It was like how they changed the game from being able to run everywhere and skip whole chunks of the game. There is no reason that a 5 year old game can't change for the better like the games that came out after it as it pertains to this instance of attribute points.

I actually liked the setup Prophecies uses. If playing normally, not skipping missions/quests, you reach level 20 at about the time of Ascension, and the attribute quests start shortly there after. Factions and Nightfall proved those attribute quests too early in my opinion. I don't think you should be worrying about 30 attribute points until you are level 20, but I also don't think it is so important to need changed. The only change I think needs to be made is for the Prophecies attribute point quests to be made easier to locate. Faction as well to some degree. I rarely see Nightfall characters missing attribute points because they missed the quest, but Factions and Prophecies I see it a LOT. People don't notice the quests and never realize they were missing attribute points. Make the quests easier to obtain (not complete, just obtain) and make the game direct you to them.

And you play Guild Wars for thousands of hours. 5 hours, 16 hours, not a big difference.
