Option to turn PvP chars into PvE chars
I think Guild Wars should sell an option to make pvp only characters into pve characters. I base this purely on the fact that a lot of players have pvp characters that are older than 1 year and they don't want to delete them to make a pve character. Example, i have a pvp only assassin that is 2 years old and i would love to make it into a pve character.
Guild Wars offers other make overs for characters such as changing the name and appearance. Why not changing a pvp character into a pve character? I'm not saying you will get an instant level 20 character to play pve on. You would have to level it all the same but the age remains the same along with earned reward armors/weapons if you have bought any with pvp reward points.

So if u have to level up after change to PvE... and u need to buy new armor and weapons than why dont you just delete the pvp char and create a new pve char (That looks the same, is named the same). Maybe when you /age there's no more 24Months but who cares?

Because in 12 months time he wants a third birthday present and not a crappy first year one.
But this wouldnt be a bad idea, maybe 1-2 things to work out like restricting their max armour / weapons until they are level 20 or something.
Think id /sign this idea

wouldn't be a bad idea, on the condition that everything will be reset except profession, name and age and that you start off like a newly created PvE char

I have access on the TK server to commands that let me switch PvP characters to become PvE characters and vice versa. However, since this doesn't reset your level, and since the only towns that might be unlocked automatically as a result of that are the port cities, your suggestion is a little different than that, but probably not so far off that it couldn't be implemented as a one-time, purchased move.
I have a concern with what's in the bold. Sure, you're paying for it, so I would think that people aren't going to try doing this too often, but you're getting the chance to buy prestige armor and extremely rare weapons with real life money. Also, you didn't mention skills, but just about every long time PvPer will have unlocked all skills available, so you're also paying to have every single skill on your character unlocked, if you're not going to suggest that skills also get reset. Both of these points become even more problematic with the possibility to porting characters with these benefits into pre-Searing.
The only kind of PvP to PvE move I'd be comfortable with is maintaining a character's name, age, and campaign of creation. They would have to lose everything else on the way - skills, equipment, titlepoints, items, etc.

What i had thought was you wont have access to anything [reward point armor/weapons]until you reach level 20. Also, you would have to unlock the skills using tomes or buying them from a skill trainer.

uhm,... no
this way, a lot of people would just create PvP elite armors and weapons, switch to PvE, rush to lvl 20 and have a full set of elite armor and rare weapons, as well as having (nearly?) every skill unlocked

You cant create elite pvp armor/weapons unless you have reward points earned through tournaments to spend. And it takes a lot to get the reward points they are not that easy to get and accumulate to the point you can buy armor from talkano. These would be the only things carried over. However, i would be happy to just make my pvp char a pve char with the age and name being the same.
Also, the skills are already unlocked. If i unlock a skill using balthazar faction it is unlocked account wide. So i think you misunderstood me. I am not saying the char would have all the skills that have been unlocked. I am saying it would be like a new char where you could buy tomes so you have access to the skills that are unlocked.

I agree with Shayne here on the whole idea of porting the name/age/campaign. The main reason you would not want to re-roll the character is because of it's age. Granted people change their minds on things over the course of time (e.g. their character's sex, looks) which ANet have implemented a change function for us, at a cost.
I could see ANet being the same with this. Put in place the PvP/E port functionality (more costly micro transactions again) compared to leave as is and let the player choose if he/she wishes to buy another character slot. Either way, more revenue for ANet - the second being at no cost to them.

So buy a slot. Anet won't waste time on this when there's a comparable solution. PvP chars are supposed to be disposable anyway.

+1 to your missing the point title...
on a side not buy a char slot...no real need for something that basically already exists in another form...as your asking to be able to hold onto the /age you can do that by buying a char slot and putting your new and improved char in there...and not deleting your char with the /age you want

Personally /notsigned.
Make another char, delete your PvP one buy a slot, whatever. The end result is exactly the same minus the fact when you type /age and /deaths the numbers are different.
Also it states quite clearly that you are making a PvP Only Character I mean come on ... doesn't get much more obvious than that.

Terrible Suggestion strikes back.
Seriously there's no need for all the mess and implementation issues when you can just buy a character slot for a new pve char and keep the old pvp one as a mule/presents or even *gasp* pvp char.
Also, Birthday presents are near worthless, unopened 3rd year are dirt cheap and 4th are following them shortly with the massive influx of thrm coming this month.
But I feel you want some more exploitable stuff from this, not a present worth 10k. You want the free/cheap easy perfect weapons for your pve including skins that cant be obtained in pve or ones that cost 1000s of ectos.
Nothing good can be said about this Terrible Suggestion, so /NOTSIGNED

NO dude, it's about losing a char that is 3 years old to me. I have 8 slots, all filled with GW goodness. I want my sin to be pve now, but it's a pvp char...3 years old. DELETE IT? I have a lot on this char for reward points, and fourth year mini to look forward to. If you dont know jack about reward points read about it on wiki plox.
BTW, thanks for the nickname i'll get you one soon...
