Party search trading - dnd/offline/away
Idea: automatically removing listings on the party search if player sets their status to do not disturb, offline or away
Reasons: it clutters up the trade posts, especially in Kamadan and LA where there is frequent listings, and can be annoying when trying to find an item only to get the green messages when offering to buy. While one can say it is the seller's loss for not replying, it does cause some frustration from the buyers end. Also, the dnd and offline statuses prevent people from querying/bartering via pm.
I know this isnt exactly a priority issue, but it can be an annoying one

/signed! It's annoying when you PM someone in an attempt to do business with them and you get no response. Even worse is when the AFKer PMs you later (while your in the middle of a mission, vanquish, or something) and gets pissy when you won't drop what your doing to accommodate them!
Also /signed for disallowing PS messages with "AFK" in them (as in WTS: AFK). Those do nothing but clutter up the PS Window for everyone looking just to act as a place holder for 1 person.

Signed. I am not to sure this would be hard to do. The problem is that most people don't seem to know how to set themselves to "Away." Maybe asking for a five minute automatic drop off would be a better answer to this problem.

You should be happy theres even people left who log in anymore. Btw if anet just adopted a store kinda thing like aion/wow have (as ive been told i dont have much experience with those) then u could basically afk and be able to sell your items. What you are proposing wouldnt accomplish anything. Those who usually go on away/dnd/offline would just leave their character set to Online but still go afk. You think they care if when you pm them it says they are offline or if it goes through and you get no response? Its no different to them. Id say anet should stop trying to make minor tweaks to a game thats lost 75% of its player base. Some people dont like gwguru so they shouldnt be forced to have to post here instead of leave a post up in kamadan. Dont ruin trading any further.

how is it ruing trading further? I mean, by the time the person comes back to start the trade, either the one willing to buy has either logged off, bought the item from someone else or has gone off to do something else that they aren't about to quit halfway through just to satisfy a seller. and also you wouldnt set your status as away/dnd/offline without a reason, usually intending to be afk for a certain amount of time if set away, so it is better to remove theirs from the list rather than clutter it. If anything it would make trading better, not worse, by cutting out those who arent actually selling

Maybe as suggested, if you dont re-post your WTB/WTS message within 5 mins of the last you get dropped off?

an interesting idea, but I would be slightly against it since you could be in the middle of a PM or discussion with your guild/alliance that could take that 5 minutes. good suggestion though

It is annoying, as others have said, to look through all the messages and finally finding someone with something you need only to have them be afk. And as another said, when they pm you ages later and you're busy, it sometimes isn't pretty. lol.

Also make the "wts -line" longer. I don't like guessing what ppl are trying to sell and for how much. Example : "<<<WTS>>> Fully modded C". Some people, like me, just can't go to overpopulated district ones because sadly we have bad computers.
